Bury

Claims supporters have got hold of the name, ground and history

This is likely to get very amusing

They can hardly afford to split the support

A derby with wigan in a couple of seasons.

So (not for the first time) they can have big joint community singalong:

"We only hate Bolton Wanderers"

"Wanky, wanky, wanky, wanky Wanderers".

At least Bury had deep roots and had been a genuine one of the 92 for more than a century.

I hope they get themselves back on a decent footing to a level where it stops being a question of old club/new club. Seems to work in Italy. And then only the football matters and they can start losing every week again. Same applies to Latics tbh.

I see they are going j the same league as Ramsbottom United.

How many back to back promotions would they need to get back in the football league?

Fuck knows. It's either the 7th or 8th tier. NWCL seems to split into 3 other sub-leagues. I don't even know which one Bury will be in.

They are playing in the same league they played in last season, Rammy got relegated into Burys league.

Bury will play in NWC Prem - Step 5.

They would need 5 promotions to get to Football league.

Bury go on the back burner till if/when they get back to the league. Too low for my concerns currently.

Its the 2nd lowest level of semi-pro.

Haha I didn’t realise.

Same as Macclesfield, yet some folk still think they are an academy

Macclesfield when in same league as Bury now, targeted 5 promotions in 10 years to get beck into Football league.

they have just done 2 promotions in a row.

its doable if you chuck enough money at it…but very unlikely.

Macclesfield had a keeper from Liverpool in loan ffs…not many clubs down that level can get a prem player on loan, can only have bee Robby Savage connections.

Bury wont have those type of links, and wont even have Macclesfield's crowd sizes to just storm 5 leagues so fast.

Macclesfield will be 2 leagues above them this coming season.

Cmon bud, it’s not really is it? Yeah there is a gulf, but Santos ain’t signing for Everton and keeping them up. There is more movement down the pyramid.

point I was making is that these fallen ‘giants’ ain’t getting back into the league anytime soon. There are loads of clubs (north and south) who at more likely to make the grade sooner. What was the furthest Stockport fell?

the difference is 2 levels on the pyramid, its a big gap in relative terms.

Stockport dropped to National league North, which is step 2.

Macc in step 3 next season…they are the most likely to climb up due to the crowds and money.

Edited by Pablo

Scunthorpe in Conf North (Step 2) next season, leagues are full of them. Macc got more of a chance than Bury. Not a concern for the Mighty Whites.

Iles' article saying they've been docked 3 points.

Fielding an ineligible player.

Going to appeal.

After over 3 years, since the reforming. Through Covid, through all the rivalry shit. 4th last season, 7 off top today. He was in the AFC camp before the merger.

They've said they want someone with a UEFA A license 🤣
