Some knock from Crawley this, and to be fair to him it's felt like it's been coming.

Every time this series he's just looked like getting settled he's hung one out there, but kept his head screwed on through his 50 today and then not looked back. Really impressive, and I'm happy for him, hope it's the start of the sort of form he's threatened to put together before.

Need to turn the screw now though into the evening, big day tomorrow and feels like our only chance of getting a result.

ok zak, crack on

seriously, have there been many better examples of identifying the talent, and being patient with it

well done to the selectors for not going with the breeze

Excellent batting but on this pitch and the weather forecast I'm already worrying about how we'll bowl the Aussies out. I need to limit the number of things I'm worrying about to less than 10.

Scoreboard pressure does funny things. Their key batsmen surrendered their wickets at Headingley

Loving this partnership but if I go to the kitchen for a brew and a bite, will it jinx it?

Daren't leave my seat ATM.

Don't worry. No such thing as "jinx" you get yourself a brew 😉

I'd love this to the start of a purple patch, but it's not his highest score and despite making over 400 in 2 knocks combined, his average for the other 65 dismissals is 25. His ability to play a blinder for a few hours was already clear - hopefully he can start to offer a contribution more often on top.

True, I'm thinking he's benefiting from the total trust by his captain and coach. Relax and focus on the game.

Losing more overs tonight, that won’t be made up.

I understand the “well you’re getting great entertainment “, blah, but it’s blatantly cheating the customer. England are as culpable and might regret the overs lost yesterday.
