No Foakes in the squad. That’ll disappoint a few, including me.

I mentioned earlier that we were in hospitality on Saturday and 3 ex players come round and shake hands.Adam Hollioake was one of these and said in every box they get asked 'how about Bazball' and 'should Foakes play'. On the W/keeper he though YJB was not looking fully fit but Stokes wants players who are 100% behind the way he wants to play and the feeling amongst ex players was that YJB is more bought in than Foakes.

Absolute clown show.

All the talk of bravery and they can't bear to admit this mistake.

Bairstow is mentally shot to pieces already - leaving skied catches to fine leg when they're nearer the keeper is absolutely shocking.

Laughable given Stokes is the most defensive player in the team half the time.

Shows far more mental strength for Foakes to play his own game than seeing some of the undroppable likely lads just swing from the hip because they think it's what the boss wants.

Indeed.

Moreover, keepers taking catches tend to save a lot of runs.

If people genuinely think Test cricket is in rude health, they need to watch a few overs of the ongoing Test between the Windies and India

Practically a non-contest, and I think there were more on at Tonge this weekend

One of my neighbours is of Indian heritage and he hates Test Cricket. It’s all white ball for him. I haven’t had chance to ask him what he thinks of this Test Series.
Englands progressive approach to Test Cricket may change the way Its played around the world or not.
I hope it does but for many, 5 days is too much. Their loss.

Windies are a busted flush sadly.

Cricket not the appeal it used to be.

Too much exposure to baseball nowadays.

Which is fair enough. Shame but such is life.

In part I think there are similar reasons here, albeit that football and maybe athletics provide alternatives/money.

The report claims differently of course, but that's not for here.

Says the one who disappears when he's made a tit of himself :D

anyway, he's in.

That's the very reason I don't bother anymore. You and your acolytes always resort to the same tactic: abuse.

You don't agree with someone, so they're a cunt, tit etc. It's endless and mind numbing.

You simply seem to lack intellect and decency to attempt a cogent discourse.

And given your track record of wuming, it's little wonder folk treat your words with scepticism.

There's a story about a boy crying wolf.

It's ridiculous they can't admit their mistake and just pick Foakes

Agreed.

Just have to get behind the team now though.

One thing is for sure, after this series, some big decisions are needed. A really ageing attack, a keeper not at the level required (not his fault) and sometimes a bizarre approach to batting.
