Moeen.

Done quite well since he came in, especially at 3, but his fitness is an issue.

He's taken a few wickets, but not bowled massively, and Root could have managed it.

If a proper spinner is required, then lose one pace bowler.

Losing a front line spinner or a front line seamer is a big call, especially with the way we play. Talk today was of how tired the bowlers must be, taking one out of the equation would only make this worse.

Too big a gamble, which is obviously why they haven’t done it.

May be.

But definitely a worse keeper, which as you say, is such a key position.

No doubt it's a balance they have to decide on, but for me they'd both play.

I’d also like them both to play. Bairstow has proved his worth as a batsman. Whether Foulkes would have been better behind the wicket will never be known. At the end of the day we don’t pick the team though. I don’t think the opinions on here are really conflicting with each other, it’s with the selectors and for me, they know more than we will ever know.

Gosh.

Good to go when at the top.

Fantastic tribute on Sky just then. 👏

Cant wait to see him tomorrow, surely it would be fate for there to be something special from “The Competitor”

Maybe that means Jimmy is carrying on

Thought he would go first

Suppose he might now- maybe his mate going might make his mind up.

That said, I wonder if he wants to get to the 700 mark, which I don't think he can manage this series, so maybe he might just carry on.

Just seen Broad’s interview and he said he wanted to retire on top. Maybe Jimmy will take note. Sad day when he does go but sentiment shouldn’t come into it from both sides, player and selectors.

I really hope he proves me wrong tomorrow though. Englands greatest ever bowler. 🐐

Greatest ever, highest wicket taker, or both? Certainly highest wicket taker, and most capped, but best of all time? Best Lancastrian bowler?

Certainly an all time great, as is Broad

On wickets taken for England, yes. Any other measure is open to opinion. Cricket achievement is mainly stats driven so that’ll probably define his career. I’ll go with that.

If your comparing him with Statham for instance, more wickets for Lancs but different era and before central contracts.

Aye. I’d love to have seen Statham bowl.

Looking forward to the reception when Broad comes out to bat today.

As it stands, Broady and Jimmy will walk out tomorrow to bat. Whatever Jimmy decides, it will be the end of an era. It’s going to be emotional.

It will be one of those special, historical sporting moments, really looking forward to it.

Watch this it’ll be a first baller 😂.

Or they find a way to a 400 lead which would be a fantastic start to hopefully a memorable day.
