Johnson doesnt fuck that pass up in last minute then it could have been so different :(

Like everyone else I'm happy with a point.  Doesn't sound like we played well after we took the lead and it sounds like a stretch to say we deserved a point (did we have a shot on or near target except the pen?).  First time we've taken the lead away from home and failed to win since Bradford in March 2021.

Good to see us go 1-0 up in the first half away from home, a good habit to get into after conceding the first goal more often than not last season.  Morley also scored the last one (at Gillingham).

Ipswich didn't have many chances. Charles could've had a pen or scored after 70ish but contact put him off.

John whipped a great cross in late on we might have scored from too.

Stats don't back it up, but I honestly feel a draw was fair

The good thing is we have good quality on the bench Sadler and Dempsey who didn’t feature today I would like to see start so it shows we have a bit of depth .
May be someone on loan before the window shuts from a premier league team who is young a bit raw. But with real pace could put us over the top

Fair point for me, both sides and even the ref were blowing out their arse by the end. Take it, we're underway. Never ever coming back here again.

Unless we're in play offs...

One more thing, we have some bloody stars following us, what a following. @Casinowho was the guy in the anorak next to you?!

I think the deserved point comes from how well we defended. Apart from the goal and the Trafford save with his legs we didn’t give them much at all. And with the odd half chance (in fact a very good chance from John’s cross) it wouldn’t have been surprising had we snatched goal. So I’m sticking to a deserved point.

Fair enough, I didn't watch it, just got reports here and there and I know I was very happy to hear the game had finished!

But its something to build on, Ipswich won't drop many home points.

(To correct my stat, it was the first time we've scored first away and failed to win since Bradford, doesn't count 2-1 leads like at Wimbledon).

Had a text from Ipswich mate who said we defended well at the end so deserved the point.

Would have taken a point all day before the start. Not convinced Dapo and Charles is the right combination up front, to lightweight.  Would still like to see Dapo wide, with Bod and Charles up front. Not sure all the subs helped. Couldnt see any shape or formation? Ipswich far better in the 2nd half. Good point tho.

I think that partnership can work against certain opposition in certain games, it’s the front 3 (including Lee) we had against Sunderland. But I agree it didn’t quite yield the results today - Ipswich dealt with them well.

On another point. The stream here in Tenerife was fine, as I take it, it is most of the time as a resident? If so I’m surprised the Giddy Goose (Bolton pub here) don’t use ifollow to show it. It’s not that pubs don’t/wouldn’t do - I went for a wander earlier and the “Tenerife Wolves” pub said he’d happily put it on for us. But I really just couldn’t bring myself to set up there for he day! 😂

It does how many times did we see that in the prem under big Sam nothing wrong with grinding a result away from home under pressure I think we probably restricted them to a couple of good chances in the second half which one they ballooned over the other traff got is legs to

I feel like Sadlier might be one of those players that we never see get a run of games, there always seems to be a player in every squad that just doesn't quite fit one position and never gets established.  I think he's top drawer at this level, potentially one of the first names on the teamsheet for most league one teams, but even without Dempsey and with 5 subs allowed he didn't get on today (and I know, its 1 game out of 46, its just a hunch, hopefully I'm wrong).

Bod, for me, is our best player. I'd build around him up top

Thought MJ looked a bit lost at times, surprised he played the full 90

I think Evatt has caused a bit of an issue for himself with the depth and quality we have. I know Dapo did play up top last season but doubt that was ever the long term intention

probably looked at that 1 number 10 spot and thought shit with Dapo, Lee, Sadlier and Sheehan. Difficult to juggle 4

pushing Dapo further forward gives him a bit more wiggle room as you generally make forward subs / changes the most. Easier to rotate the 4 in the 2 spots

Yes, the stream is good here, home and away. Dont know why the Giddy Goose doesnt get our system, not expensive at all. Alot of bars have the right system, but, normally, they prefer to play prem games, which is understandable. Where are you staying?

If Charles had gone down where he nicked the ball we’d of got another one. Mix of being too honest and too determined to bag himself

I thought Trafford had a bit of a mare, especially his kicking. Happy with a point though, roll on next week .

Gala hotel - Las Americas

Amazing support today and happy with a point.

First 20-30 minutes we looked good and were keeping them contained, gave away a goal from nothing and then it changed.

Second half they were much better and caused us some problems,  but we were also very sloppy in possession and gifted them a few chances. As others have said Dapo and Charles together just didn't work, would prefer to see JDB start alongside Charles and Dapo behind them.

Bradley looked very good, was knackered at the end.

Don't think we will play too many better teams than Ipswich

Decent hotel. We live near the airport, only 10/15 mins from where you are by bus. A place called Las Chafiras. How long you here for? WW meet up?

If you head to Playa Paraiso - 5/10mins in a cab there’s a Stokie bar just up from Hard Rock and they’ll put on any iFollow you want - usually have a few games on at once on the various screens

@Danny Grecommended it to me a few years back and I’ve seen us play from there a few times

I think we were under a bit to much pressure today to bring saddler on late on but i think as the season progresses Dempsey and Sadler will be starters
