Brand Evatt

We had a decent thread a while back discussing Evatt’s philosophies and approach to the game (think it got tainted and pulled)

So not a bad time to start it up again at the beginning of the season.

In the main he’s done a fantastic job. A minority lost patience round about Xmas/New Year in both seasons.

But surely now he has the large backing of the majority of fans and the brand he talked about implementing here is now well and truly established.

Good article above highlighting how he’s using Sport Science to get the squad performing to it’s optimum level.

A young, meticulous, intelligent and passionate individual, who we are very lucky to have leading our club.

I hope he gets what he deserves with promotion to the Championship.

All the analysis and data aside, I just don't get how the board can seriously be sat thinking anything else but that change needs to happen. And if they think that Evatt can be the one to change

I thought it was a pretty even game tbh. We didn't have loads of chances but we did have some so you can't really say we offered no threat. Good shot from Collins that the keeper saved, a good run by Collins when he shot over the bar and probably should've played Williams in, good chance at the very end when we could've won the game. I think you're being unfair with your comments.

You say unfair I say completely irrational/hysterical/dramatic/utter bollocks

It was like Birmingham away

I’d be interested to know whether you went away to watch both?

If that’s what it looked like from the TV then I can’t dispute it.

But being in both away ends I can categorically tell you last night was nothing like Birmingham away.

There was a genuine feeling that we were competing. There was no feeling of surrender, it felt like we had more of the ball than Wycombe, we created more chances than we did at Birmingham and that got the fans on board, much better atmosphere as a result in the away end.

it absolutely was not like brum watching it on tv

we may have been second best, but we gave them a game and stood up for ourselves under very difficult circumstanes in terms of personnel

I didn't expect much from ether brum or wycombe, the diffrence was we got a performance worthy of a point

Jeb? What are you 16?

You keep on slashing your wrists about a 0-0 draw away v top of the league with a completely depleted defence and midfield 👍

What's a jeb?

I just don't know why people listen to them.

I'm with you on that, I find it surprising how many take any notice.

I think the last time I listened to an IE interview was when he was saying how our new signing Reiss Greenidge was full of pace and strength.  Obviously I've seen quotes from him occasionally on the BN website etc but I've no interest in what he has to say, especially pre and post match when we all say stuff we wouldn't necessarily repeat a day or 2 later.

Because it was complete backs to the wall, pinned in our own half and anywhere will do every time we got the ball. We posed absolutely no threat whatsoever injuries or otherwise.

They’re top of the league and unbeaten in 18 yes but they looked poor imo. Our team pre-Christmas last year would’ve battered them. I believe even with demos/sheehan last night it would’ve been the same story. It was like Birmingham away and fortunately for us, one of the million balls into the box didn’t drop favourably for them.

If only our team pre-Christmas last year could have got a few more points v Burton, Carlisle, Wigan, Bristol Rovers and Reading we might have gone up 😀

Just read his interview in the BN over the push in 2025.

Putting aside most of it, the last few sentences speak loudly.

The physio staring at him, basically saying don't put Mendez-Gomez on.

Once again, why is he on the bench if not ready? He's had a serious injury ffs.

It's something that has happened previously; a bench with players that he won't (can't) use. Really don't get it.

Yep. You may as well put a youngster from the stiffs there. Unlikely to be used bit at least he COULD be.

I think that’s a bit harsh.

I’m not overly analysing that as a criticism.

We were absolutely bereft of players on Friday. We know CMG has been slowly nursed back, played B team football last week, so it’s not as if he’s not available to use. Just use with extreme caution.

I think the scenario to use him would have been if we desperately needed a player of that ilk to rescue something, we didn’t.

If he was fully fit and minutes under his belt Evatt would have loved to have used him in any scenario, hence his slightly humorous quip about itching to use him and staring down the physio.

No worse than others; full of adverts.

Easy enough to click on wanderers section and look at headlines.

Heard on the grapevine we are in for Blackpools main man a bloke called Nookie

Seems he is tied up in the summer months but is available  January through to March.

Going to be the voice of reason both in the changing room and around the training ground.

Only down side he like most of the squad carries a injury sustained when his car fell to pieces while driving on the North Shore

There's no way I'd attempt to navigate the BN website to find something, it's an absolute clusterfuck.

That BN site is shite and days late.

It was tongue in check comment I don’t think the physio would be glaring at the manager .
He as fucked tute up though by over playing him when you know is history stupid to be playing him 3 times in a week when he as been out for so long

Interesting that

Comes back to the players

The honest conversations after Stockport no doubt come back to this

We need a squad of players giving their all, not just two or three

Sounds similar to the issues at Utd

Maybe even City to a degree

Would be interesting to know if IEs self confessed absence is the norm, or if he's absent more than most, or if we've just managed to create an environment where players are inclined to take it easy

The latter would be a surprise given his talk of old school values when he first came in, and his non negotiables like running off at half time
