The bottom line is we need immigration and in large numbers. People are in denial if they think that’s not the case. We would not if we had more people with more kids - and a better demographic. But our society is ageing and the reality is we need to import working age people (and the demographics get worse last I looked) to keep the economy afloat.

The numbers over 65 and proportion over 65 is going up and up. The Tories weren’t letting record numbers in because they fancied a spell in opposition. 
 

680,000 net last year and small boats in total is what 150,000 over 5 years?

I think there can be criticisms made of how politicians, media, and other public institutions have dealt with the matter of, for what pf a better phrase, community tensions over the years, but if you decide to behave like people have been behaving in the videos, they are literally as described

Dont know the break downs but I suspect not. From what I remember the main two nationalities last year were Indian and Nigerian.

I was pointing out, first of all, that I don't think it's right to view it merely an immigration issue, and second, that looking at the polling of the inportance of issues in general elections won't tell us much
