I always gauge whether a politician is probably getting it about right when they are being criticised by these two groups in opposing ways.

Again strange that Tories are not asking where their leadership candidates are . Last week they were jockeying for position to appeal to the right of the party and those being attracted to Reform. All of a sudden not as much so . Tough to tackle it when it is an issue you have dumped on the country.

They seem unable to condemn the violence. 

Politically if you are reform or right wing you should be absolutely aghast at this because the genuine issues you want to raise have been poisoned by violence and riot. It’s stupid.

Ultimately beyond what he’s done in giving the police full backing and allowing cross force coordination, swift justice etc…I’m not really sure what else he could do.

Ive seen people say he should recall parliament but that would be political. I can see how that would score him political points but would do nothing for the violence. Others say he should hold daily news conferences which again I can see helping him politically but not helping stop the violence.

It's been coming for decades, with each subsequent government failing to acknowledge any issues, because they're too shit scared for reasons we all know.

Throughout politics, civil service, and public authorities, and maybe even the judiciary. 

We have lawyers being able to work the system and also stall legislation. 

Independent advisory bodies recommending reducing conditions of entry, and gormless/spineless ministers unwilling to say no.

Then mps and the same ministers, being unable to coalesce around anything approaching strong, effective controls.

It's a fucking shit show all round.

I agree and that is why as PM Starmer as the bloke in charge is copping flak , unlucky a poisoned chalice he has inherited, nature of the job.
