Looks like wokery is diminishing then and people can actually speak the truth? Not before fucking time.

No mate the people who have been using Muslim grooming gangs are very much the anti woke brigade. They have seemingly en masse gone to Pakistani as though a memo has gone out.

If one person (or bot) at the top of the pyramid changes it from “Muslim” to “Pakistani”, it automatically trickles down throughout the rest.
May 4, 20251 yr It's no wonder why what happened went unpunished for so long, is it? A typical attitude From the Leader of the House of Commons too

Are they not, very often, british grooming gangs, albeit of pakistani origin

I haven't noticed but I think it's right to make the differentiation

Also this is Harry Phibbs - the editor of Conservative Home - just to give a little context to this post.

The issue is communication, it's why folk don't feel listen to, but then that's more economics. Also it's good to say, when posting something from another source where that is from and dear Mr Phibbs isn't exactly a unbiased commentator.

Montgomerie wasn't dog whistling His point was relevant to the topic under discussion Powell could've just disagreed but instead betrayed the same kind of attitude towards the failures that many others have previously

In this case it wasn’t ’Dog Whistling’ He brought up a very serious, for some anyway, subject. It was the usual response. Divert way from the issue and attack the questioner. This has been mentioned in another thread. Look at Andy Burnham’’s response. A national inquiry is required. Edited May 4, 20251 yr by BobyBrno

Montgomerie wasn't holding it up as some form of failure by a new government and neither am I (although I've got practically no faith that this government, much like the others, have the will or the appetite either) Powell's response - even in circumstances where the issue wasn't being used cynically - is indicative of a broader attitude among people in positions of authority and is a key part of the reason why what happened happened And, of course, there won't be any consequences to her for expressing that attitude (much like there hasn't been for the numerous police officers, social workers, council officials who enabled the offending)

A more measured response is to say that despite the attention given to the grooming gangs they do not account for the majority of sexual abuse cases in the country and the Govt is committed to tackling all sexual abuse, the previous report commissioned by the Tories took 7 years (2015-22) and until Labour took power none of the recommendations have been actioned. We are continuing to deliver on that. If she wanted to be aggressive then follow up with ‘The absolute silence from the people clamouring from public enquiries when the perpetrators of the Bolton grooming gang were prosecuted this week is telling. Why do they not display the same anger when the abusers are white ?’ https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/iicsa-report-of-the-independent-inquiry-into-child-sexual-abuse

(The one that got kicked out) It’s been years of failings. The problem, which is at the heart of the matter is the usual rhetoric that we are talking about now. Whenever it’s brought up the usual excuses and they are excuses come out. Dog whistling, racist accusations, far right rhetoric, lads in Blackrod etc etc.
