I think her response was stupid and thoughtless, it is clear that the public have a view of what has happened, the respond in the way she did has opened her up to criticism from reasonable folk let alone anyone with an agenda.

A more measured response is to say that despite the attention given to the grooming gangs they do not account for the majority of sexual abuse cases in the country and the Govt is committed to tackling all sexual abuse, the previous report commissioned by the Tories took 7 years (2015-22) and until Labour took power none of the recommendations have been actioned. We are continuing to deliver on that.

If she wanted to be aggressive then follow up with ‘The absolute silence from the people clamouring from public enquiries when the perpetrators of the Bolton grooming gang were prosecuted this week is telling. Why do they not display the same anger when the abusers are white ?’

There was no cover up in the case of the Blackrod abusers. That is the difference that many seem to miss.
There are still cases in certain towns that have not been acted on for the reasons I gave above. That is why a national inquiry into the handling of the abuse is required.

I do not disagree, I was pointing out that rather than given a churlish response that has made her look a right cunt she could have made more salient points.

Starmer promised a Govt of service not one that serves his own party, if you are not brave enough to tackle such difficult issues you will be seen as just being as bad as the last lot, which is why actioning the previous report needs to be highlighted as well.

The Blackrod case is an example of judicial success, and it certainly helps that Tommy Robinson wasn’t interfering. Indeed, I knew nothing about it until last week and I live in the same postcode.

allowing justice to go at its own methodical pace is always best.

any cover ups elsewhere definitely need to be investigated. Preferably without the pitchfork mobs getting involved.

I don't doubt there are many who focus so much on the grooming gang scandal simply because they're racist

But the reason the (primarily) Pakistani grooming gangs scandal deserves a national inquiry is because it's not solely a sexual abuse issue

It's also about the failures (and, in cases, complicity) of the state and the lack of culpability for it

And it speaks to wider issues too as it's in part a failure of multiculturalism - much of the offending was ignored because of fears of being labelled racist (and I think also a fear of violent reprisal); there are also very important questions to be asked about the extent Mirpuri/Kashmiri clan loyalty played in enabling the abuse and how we challenge that as a society; and the racial/cultural nature of the victims (the perpetrators frequently make reference to targeting the girls because they are white, and therefore are culturally of little/no value), etc.

These are issues we're going to have to reckon with (and which we currently aren't, which I think drives much of the non-racist in intent anger) if we want to live in a successful, multicultural environment, and, to my knowledge, none of the above apply in the Blackrod crimes

Here’s a ‘pitchfork’ response (typical) from that dog whistling, racist, right wing newspaper.
Read it and you’ll see the difference between the Blackrod gang and those not actioned on.

The pitchfork comment refers to Yaxley-Lennon types who have done more harm than good for their cause

Nah. More harm has come from those who labelled the people who spoke out as racist etc. The abusers would all be locked up now. Hopefully the tide has turned and the apologists will be called out.

The whole thing is a mess. The tip toeing around Pakistani gangs by officials is disgraceful but disrupting the court cases was an equally fucked up situation.

An enquiry is needed but most importantly it seems justice is being served to grooming gangs of all hues.

One of little whitts' friends (who he was drinking with today) told him the SAS were at his base in Manchester yesterday, getting kitted up and prepared to carry out the operation shown in the video on Sky News.

I don't think that's going to help unless their plan is to lay down for half an hour hallucinating and being unable to move! 😁

Aye

Maybe we should act on the last one first and see where we are

All well and good: however as it didn't go as deep as required, then it hasn't revealed the full scale of the situation, and as such many won't be held accountable, nor will any law changes on the back of it happen.

Reading comments from the head of counter terrorism command, and others, it seems pretty clear that whatever this turns out to be concerning, it has been a huge investigation with a lot of resourcing.

One of the comments did mention "state terrorism", so I doubt there is little doubt that Iran is behind it.

Time to destroy the Houthis in Yemen completely, and send a message to the top bods over there.

Because of scale. Scale.

It's pretty fucking simple.

The last one hasn't been found yet. Concentrate on Bradford, Rochdale, Rotherham..........

He's a proper dickhead him. All of his videos are poverty porn/smackhead safaris. Exploiting the most vulnerable folk for views.

Certainly painting a bad picture.

That said, when local inhabitants describe it in such glowing terms..
