Should've blacked up and whacked a fruit bowl on her head.

Or a wedding dress

Ever get the feeling RW didn't really like his school days 😁

That's how Pi$$ weak this country has become , think I've told the storey of the incident in the 70s with the Octagon theatre and the primary school before.

Anyway without jumping on the bandwagon i have always disliked Gregg Wallace and knew years ago he was a wrong un.

One of my daughters could never ever watch Johnty Roads,  not coz she thought he was a wrong un it was just his over sized big sweaty face made her feel queasy.

I can imagine, back of the class giggling away.

The  why would they apologise? Surely they would stand by there or actions if they were in the right?

i think theyve apologised for upsetting her, not for telling her to fuck off with her ginger spice outfit

We deeply regret the distress this has caused and offer our sincere and unreserved apologies.

In the 70s (maybe still do) the Octagon theatre used to have some yellow square shaped vans that would go around doing performance's and activities and i would imagine mainly in schools, most older posters will remember these vans and if they turned up at your school you knew you were in for a fun morning or afternoon or at least it was a break from the normal.

These were mainly student actors or old hippies that were cadging a living doing this, anyway they turn up and do a drama/play about an incident in India in the days of colonial rule where the British army shoot a loac of civilians (don't know the history of it but im sure someone will), most kids had nodded off or were thinking about steve Austin or bay city rollers or something of the time and only paid attention when the powerful message of the killing started.

After the performance had finished there was probably half an hour before home time so the teacher asks what were people's thoughts on the play? Most kids say nothing but someone had said that it makes them feel ashamed to be British!!!!.

Anyway most kids had never given this a second thought but one had gone home and told his father that we were being made to feel ashamed to be British at school, next day , BEN were there, the kids dad was there and the local NF were outside the gates.

They obviously know they’ve made a cock up. I mean why isolate a kid for wearing a dress. 🤷🏻

We are committed to learning from this experience and ensuring that every student feels recognised and supported when expressing pride in their heritage.

And the essay she wrote reads like it was written by her gammon dad.

Correct with the clever ones, no doubt you would have been sat at the front with the gawps catching flies. Less space for the teacher to cover when getting up umpteen times to explain basics.

Oh, that's a surprise as you generally come across as thick as mince on here.

So you had Action, Image, Exchange do a play about the history of British Colonialism? Not much of a story, is it to be honest?

Morning camp mates👍🇬🇧

I loved History at school and went on to do it at A level too. We must have covered the best part of a 1000 years History over the years but didn't spend 1 minute on the UKs colonial past.  It's only in the years since that I found out we, ie the British, were quite often a bunch of c*nts. Fair play to that drama group doing something so enlightened back then.

Made the headline in the BEN the following evening and has stuck in my mind 52years later.
