I'd say the only reason you'd bring in facts and figures about other paedophile cases, especially in this discussion, is it suggest the Muslim grooming scandal isn't as big as made out.

You hear it time and time again during these discussions.

It's like talking about Barry Bennal and what a disgrace it was that people knew and it was allowed to manifest but then someone says yeah but it's just one bloke in a vast network of coaches.

Who gives a fuck. We are talking this particular regardless of how many other cases involving certain demographics.

The only reason people say yeah but what about and bring up the Catholic Church or any other problem areas is try and take the spotlight away from this particular issue.

That's downplaying it.

Yon lad yesterday played down the fact the bloke was working in Rochdale and could come in to contact with victims.

It's quite feasible and even if the chance was minute, shouldn't be allowed to happen.

His comments 100% were trying to downplay that situation.

In a range of posts he made some serious whataboutery by bringing up the wider world of child abuse and also downplayed the fact that this guy was allowed to live and work in an area where he'd abused and lead the abuse of countless young girls.

Go back and read his posts.

Whatever you say.

But making a joke about 56 people burning to death inside a football stadium is ok?

Thought I'd better respond to you on this one (against my better judgement).

I'm not quick enough nor probably bright enough to come up with the 'embers Only' thing within a few hours. That fax came to our place from a company called Drum Engineering in Bradford.

Must have been a Park Avenue supporter? I didn't 'make' it.

I have decided today after reading about your continuing anguish on the subject to boycott all Drum Engineering products from here on in. That'll teach 'em. I hope this gives you lynx to righteous satisfaction and the signalling of virtue.

Yes I watched that. Months of complaining that Farage doesn’t show up in the commons then when he does they try and prevent him from speaking.

They won't be able to soon. He has them all shitting themselves.

Looking forward to him launching a purge on the Uni/madrassa's when he gets in a la Trump and Harvard.

Were they unvaccinated?

Yes probably. You usually get the first of the MMR jabs at 12 months. Which is why we talk about everybody having it so people who can't yet have it (like this child) or people who are clinically vulnerable are protected.........

Didn't someone come up with a tenuous link to some other potential health problem with the vaccine so loads of parents decided against their kinds being immunised?

Mr Wakefield.

Caused a load of understandable concern.

Couple that with an increased number of children from an Asian background, where vaccination numbers are also low, and it becomes clear that we're going to have increased numbers.

Yes I read that they had other health issues which made wonder if they had been vaccinated or not.

All concocted so he could push his rival vaccine. Despite countless volumes of research proving him wrong and him being struck off, there is still folk out in the world who think it's true.

Yeah like TMGJ said. It was a guy called Andrew Wakefield (formerly Dr Andrew Wakefield before he was struck off) who had his licence revoked because he misled on the results of his research conclusions. But it was published in the lancet and rebuttals only came out after peer review.

But by that point the Daily Mail and other outlets can published the MMR causes autism story around the world.

We've not got millions of data sources that show us that there is no link between the two that we can find.

Sadly someone in Oldham died this weekend from measles. We've had a couple of outbreaks ourselves over the last year or two and it's only by luck that we've managed to get on top of it quickly. It's very serious illness and it's on the rise.

I think it's a bit like flu. People downplay it. Influenza is a terrible illness - and something like 1/10 kids who contract measles end up needing hospital treatment. Awful to think that the solution is there but literal idiocracy is what is preventing children from being protected.

PS - RFK JR is a big Andrew Wakefield fan. Make of that what you will.........

The stupidity of some teachers and schools is hitting new levels. Fkin idiots.

Surely there's got to be more to it than this? If not - I'm a hundred percent in agreement with you.

An inclusivity day with loads of kids being turned away at the school gates! 🤣

School have apologised apparently - but sounds like there were quite a few kids told to go home.

There was more to it. Everyone will know that.
In the permission letter that was sent home, it was explained that it was an attempt to look at other cultures other than our own.

It'll be Starmer's fault, though.

The  why would they apologise? Surely they would stand by there or actions if they were in the right?

From another post.

“strengthening staff training” 🤦🏻🤦🏻

SHOCKING - Rugby schoolgirl punished for wearing Union flag dress and celebrating British heritage at school's cultural day

Grade A student Courtney Wright, 12, wore a Union Flag dress and wrote a piece about history and traditions as part of the celebrations at the school on Friday.

But her dad, Stuart, collected his daughter after she was told to stay in the school’s reception.

Stuart said: “Courtney was so embarrassed and couldn’t understand what she’d done wrong.

In a permission letter sent to parents, it said the day was "designed to promote inclusion, understanding, and appreciation of different backgrounds, traditions and heritages".

Stuart said the school’s actions went against the message.

"Courtney didn’t do anything to be political,” Stuart said.

"She chose the dress and wrote the piece off her own back. It’s the school who have made it political and it went against everything the event was being held for.”

The school contacted Stuart over the weekend and have apologised for the move.

A spokesman for Stowe Valley Trust said: "At Bilton School, we are proud of the diversity of our students and the rich heritage they bring to our community. We are committed to fostering an environment where every pupil feels respected, valued, and included.

"On Friday 11th July, an incident occurred during our Culture Celebration Day that caused considerable upset to one of our pupils, her family, and members of the wider community. We deeply regret the distress this has caused and offer our sincere and unreserved apologies.

"We have since spoken directly with the pupil and her family to listen to their concerns and reflect on how this could have been handled better. We are committed to learning from this experience and ensuring that every student feels recognised and supported when expressing pride in their heritage.

"As a school, we are reviewing our policies and strengthening staff training to ensure our practices reflect our values of inclusion, respect, and understanding for all.”

Here’s the piece Courtney wrote for cultural day:
Today I want to talk about my culture — British culture — and why it’s important to me.

In Britain, we have lots of traditions including drinking tea, our love for talking about the weather and we have the royal family.

We have amazing history, like kings and queens, castles, and writers like Shakespeare. It's also modern, diverse and always changing - with music fashion and food from all around the world blending into daily life. And let’s not forget fish and chips!

Its also the way we speak, our humour, our values of fairness and politeness, and the mix of old traditions and new ideas

But sometimes at school, we only hear about other cultures — which is great because learning about different countries is interesting and important. But it can feel like being British doesn’t count as a culture, just because it’s the majority.

I think culture should be for everyone — not just for people from other countries or backgrounds. Being British is still a culture, and it matters too. It’s part of who I am.

So let’s celebrate all cultures — whether they come from far away or right here at home.
