When cheese is the only one backing up your argument then you’re fucked

Im not avoiding in any way shape or form.

I'm getting you to think about the problem differently.

An example, Blackpool's problem isnt because of immigration, that has exacerbated it.

Towns like Blackpool, and Bolton, have suffered years on year decline, and a brain drain, made worse by an global downturn and then the sandpaper of austerity.

Councils with no money - and no means of generating incoming work income became gateway towns just to prop up the gaping holes in their budgets. The equivalent to a high interest rate loan.

The North of England has been failed again and again by governments of any hue, we are an unbalanced country. I say again, those who focus their ire on the poorest (regardless of if they should be here or not) are allowing our elected parties to get away with the wilful neglect over 40 odd years of over half the country.

So blame those on boats if you wish, I'll aim the direction of change a little higher.

You’ve literally just said what Gonzo and I have been saying.

We have enough problems of our own already.

Throwing hundreds of thousands of young lads with different cultural backgrounds and some darker elements is making it 100 times worse.

You got there in the end.

I'm sorry if more complex discussions confuse you.

I'm happy to break it down into something more digestible?

Immigrants are not the biggest problem. Julie won't help.

Ok. Here’s a more detailed definition. I edited it to be kind but you brought Julie into it so here goes.

A word salad is a "confused or unintelligible mixture of seemingly random words and phrases", most often used to describe a symptom of a neurological or mental disorder. The name schizophasia is used in particular to describe the confused language that may be evident in schizophrenia.

Bless. I mean, thats obvious, tangentially interesting, but bloody odd.

No wonder you put a cross by Julie's name.

I disagree, on the basis it makes things 100 times worse, it makes it easy for people to blame the poorest for all ills.

I agree, you should be angry but its all distraction.

So you think throwing thousands of asylum seekers into an area already suffering the consequences of Tory neglect is any anyway helpful?

like, really?

And distraction?

No

Real world consequences are being seen. The numbers are getting larger every day.

If it stops now, I think we’re ok. Another couple of years and it’s going to get really messy.

The poorer, Northern and Midlands places took the gateway money that was given before the coalition came into being.

I was one who gained employment on the back of it.

TB and the cyclops initially.

Ok. What’s this brain drain? I seriously hope you’re not talking about yourself.😊

So just ignore immigration then?

Great idea.

Not at all - just dont make it the only issue.

We discuss many things on here. The economy, pensions, the NHS, how you piss in a toilet. This issue is one that pretty much everyone, apart from you and Cheese agree on.

Solve this, and I have a hunch a lot of the others will be easier to fix.

And Starmer really could seal his legacy.

That's the problem. It really isn't the huge issue it has been blown up to be by Farage etc and the media. But, it has blown up massively and therefore that is why politicians are all over it from all sides.

Once again, look at the numbers of folk coming here not on small boats but by plane, trains and automobiles, all legally!

The proper issues of poor families, shit parents, poverty, feral kids, etc, etc is a fucking lot harder to fix imo.

Yep. A 1000 blokes a week entering the country illegally is just fine. 🥴

I never said it was and have said so repeatedly. Well over 400000 people came here last year, that's over 1500 each and every day. It was much higher the year before, over 2000 a day. That is all I am pointing out when talking about numbers that some seem so hung up about.

Are these the people who have been vetted, gone through the right channels and been accepted here?

You said its not a huge issue.

I’m old enough to remember when we were told Brexit would ensure this wouldn’t be an issue.

Why don’t governments employ an education minister, or a housing minister, or a health and social care minister…..wait a minute they do! A goverment shouldn’t be anywhere near office if they’re only focusing on one thing.

Never mind all that! I've put my safety helmet on. He's annoyed.

What are three top issues in the country ?

1 Economy

2 NHS

3 Immigration

IMO.

Not sure how it fits or where but somehow breaking people’s long term reliance on benefits is up there

Then world issues such as Ukraine, Trump and Gaza but in terms of ‘in the country’ what comes ahead of the above ?
