No doubt some nuggets will be comparing him to that silly cow in prison, forgetting to mention she pleaded guilty.

They will. Rightly so.

I posted about this a while back.

Have a read further about her case specifically.

I did and have since changed my view: I thought she'd been found guilty in court, had broken the law and been punished accordingly.

However, should not have pleaded guilty and should have gone to court.

In her state of mind, and going off the case of the chap that did and was aquited, and now this mon, there is a very reasonable chance she would have been too.

There are very obvious parallels between the two incidents, but very obvious discrepancies in the subsequent way in which they were handled by the justice syatem.

Perhaps the nuggets are the ones who haven't gone deeper into the case, and find it easy to slag off folk instead.

Comparing it to the 'luxury 4-star hotels' that we're told they're staying in. Yes, "basic" is a good way to describe it. Do you think they should be living in something less than basic? And what about all the women and kids in there, who are supposed to be young lads?

No room on here for decent posts like this.

I think basic is perfectly fine, I'd be disappointed if they were being sent live in squalor

Yes, I can see there were women and kids, I never thought otherwise despite repeatedly hearing about military aged men coming over

I think maybe you're confusing me with a patriot or something

For me, these are the ‘nuggets’. The police for charging him. The CPS for taking it to court and the Labour Party for suspending him (be interesting to see what they do now)

If only he had told them at the beginning that he had ADHD, it could have saved everyone a lot of time and money.

Perfectly normal behaviour all this throat slitting stuff (in third world backward countries)

Talking of VJ Day, 30 years ago tomorrow, we made our debut in the Premier League away to Wimbledon, losing 3-2 at Selhurst Park, IIRC

I drove to that game, drove back through central London later, it was hammered more than one of Sutty's £5 Specials

Agree with most of the above.

But what are the ‘obvious discrepancies’ in how they were handled by the system ?

She chose her route, he chose his. The system treated them differently because of their choices.

That is not ‘very obvious discrepancies.’

Just watched some undercover footage taken by someone pretending to be a migrant in order to wander around the Metropole Hotel in Blackpool. There's loads of women and kids, and it's a shithole. I thought they were all supposed to be "single fighting-age men", living in luxury?

It's from a channel that sympathises with the Far Right too, which is odd.

Tbf the metropole houses the first batch of Afghans that came over. Mostly families. I see em in a morning taking their kids to school. All seem nice enough and always seem surprised when I say morning to em.

It's not their fault they're there.

The latest batches in other HMO type gaffs are different. They all seem to be male and love milling about on Central drive where all the kebab shops are.

Nah - there’s no parallel because she said she was guilty. That very fact changes the way they are dealt with legally

If they both gone to court and she was found guilty and this bloke wasn’t then questions could be asked.

Went on a coach from the Monteraze. Hottest I’ve ever been at a football match. 32deg plus. Disappointing start but as someone once said. “It was only the beginning”

She pleaded guilty. There are no obvious parallels to discuss in law. She may have got shit advice too. Maybe you should also have a read up on his case (and what was revealed in court) as well as hers.

I am beginning to think basic law should be on the curriculum.

The not-reet with his speaker outside there provided us with a right laugh on Tuesday. According to his pre-recorded message you don't see a white face in London anymore. He was hassling families at the air show too over the weekend.

My view of Blackpool from our 2 day visit loads of minorities on the beach Coral Island packed with honkeys and after staying in Bluewaters hotel i'd be joining the folk in The Metropole given the choice

I was there too for the airshow weekend, thoroughly enjoyed it. We were staying on queen's prom so walked past the Metropole each day. There was one bloke who looked off his face with a speaker blasting out some Tommy Robinson song and a couple of others wrapped in flags saying go home.

Has anyone seen the video where this Rick Jones fella mentions razor blades?

Did the jury?

Yeah, the fact she pleaded guilty means the justice system treats her as an offender

The sentence she received was harsh but will have been within the sentencing guidelines

Jones was clearly guilty but given the very short amount of time the jury deliberated for they must've decided to go down the jury nullification route

One crucial difference between the two is that prior to entering pleas, Jones was granted bail and Connolly wasn't, which again seems harsh considering she herself hadn't committed a violent offence and was the mother of young children

It's also thought that the fact she was refused bail was a big (perhaps the main) factor in her deciding to plead guilty

I think he's been very fortunate indeed and she's been a bit hard done to (certainly in comparison)
