This is a mate of mine. There’s no way he was every handing keys over.

He won’t have taken too kindly to the attack and would’ve fancied himself in a scrap without the knives.

Thing is though, all black clothing, baseball cap and balaclava is a bit of a giveaway that, “I’m a gangster, me!” Cops should be pulling them in on every available opportunity. They’d soon get pissed off and realise their ‘uniform’ is like having a sign above your head saying, “I’m a dick. Search me.”

Sorry to hear that and I hope your mate makes a full recovery. One of my mates has just posted a clip on FB of a gang with a similar description robbing a Range Rover. Horrible bastards

Sadly, this seems to be the case at present

15 years old.

Quite simple: prison and keys gone. For all of them.

We're not going to lock them up for life, as the cost would be too much - a good 20 stretch though, as well as a facial branding of some sort might start to act as some sort of deterrent.

20yrs per offender. So, three involved here = 60yrs.

15yr old is the only one caught, he gets the 60yrs.
If he gives one up, they do 30 each etc.

Quite like the sound of this.

A tattoo of Harry Maguire on the forehead maybe.

Sort the prisons out first...at the moment we've just got youths going in and coming out ten times worse - and more dangerous to the public.

So let these 3 scrotes roam free til the prisons are ready?

Of course not.

But why are we wasting tax payers money on prisons that just make it worse. Drugs and knives seem to be rife in some places.

Athywhite should be your go to man on this.

Perhaps we need a system where by sentences are high initially and prisoners can earn reductions based on behaviour and getting educated/skills whilst in there.

If anyone is found with drugs, knives, illicit materials etc then maybe they get time added on.

BN very quiet on this, is there a media blackout?

They’ll be writing about it after reading what went on in Bolton over the weekend in Manchester Evening News.

I'm all for longer sentences for certain crimes. But that needs to be matched with a prison system that keeps people safe and helps to prevent re-offending. No blame on prison officers on staff who do an amazing job with the small resources they have. Though I would argue they are probably not suitably qualified or equipped to deal with the mental health needs of the folk that come in - Athywhite can correct me on that if I'm wrong.

Younger folk in for less time will be at risk from exploitation by older prisoners - so it would be much harder for them to earn reductions. Some of them may never have a proper role model in their life. It's hard to hear for any victim of a crime, but these people need proper help and probably should have had it earlier in their life. If we don't have a prison system that provides this, then we're all less safe when the offender comes out.

Problem is, if you offer too much and end up sending folk out with qualifications or a trade then isn’t there a danger folk will look for a cheaper option than the current higher education fees?

Quite.

Maybe they should have to work as part of their sentence.

Tag them and have them doing stuff that is of benefit to society, within certain safeguarding parameters obviously.
