That was 81/2 ... the only bright day in an otherwise appalling start to the season, something in which we specialised for much of the decade. I've never known us win another league game there - its been a graveyard. Yet we've won two League Cup knockout games there in 99/00 and (more famously) 76/7.  The latter was a quarter final and they had a great top flight side at the time. The Bolton fans successfully baited Leighton James that night and we came from 1-0 down at HT to win 1-2.

Had my stag do in Derby that weekend and took in the game. Bit moody as well. Plenty coaches came down.

We stayed over. Went out at night and had VIP tickets for a club “Destiny and Elite” Who should roll up about midnight with 40 of us from Bolton in there … Malcom Christie. 😂 Fair play he chatted with us, remember him wishing me all the best, wasn’t a bad chap that night.

Yep , looking back it was the start of a real decade of despair

Not been as gutted about missing an away like this for ages :(

Get stuck in boys and girls, has the makings of a lively one.

3-1 Whites.

Charles 2, Morely.

The rare, rare treat of not even having to get out of bed for a good while yet.

Roads are bad mate, I’d be setting off now if I were you.  😁

To be fair I've just realised I can't see the house across the street for fog!

Hope I'm wrong but I just can't see us winning today. A resurgent side, at a ground we never do well on, good manager and we've just lost JDB for the season.  C'mon lads, surprise me.

Anyone know any decent pubs en route for food / beer

Been told Uttoxeter is alright but not any actual pubs

Most people will head to The Old Swan, a Wetherspoons on the market square, 5 mins walk from the train station. There are quite a few pubs within another 5 minute walk of there, either around the square or just off it.

Uttoxeter is a racecourse town. It's set up with a good 15 or more pubs well used to crowds.

The town centre is, literally, full of them. Food too. There's no meet today so you'll be fine.

Before the centre, coming off the A500 is a good pizza pub, the Dapple Grey. But, honestly, the options are many.
