"The Whites boss, away with his squad at a fitness training camp in Austria, has deployed assistant Chris Evans to oversee the final stages of three vital deals ? believed to be South Korean starlet Lee Chung-Yong, Aston Villa defender Zat Knight and Swansea midfielder Ferrie Bodde. " Bolton News

If that happens, I'll be mightily impressed - even though we'd have to wait & see how Bodde & Chung-Yong got on in the Prem.

Five signings, covering all departments except goalie (not needed) and striker, would be almost all the seven that Megson identified as needed. By mid July.

Fingers crossed.

:good:

I would also be happy with business so far if these are snapped up.

Especially signing Zat Knight.

Peanuts spent really.

Now correct me if i'm wrong but weren't you slaging off the possible signing of Greening.

But you'd be happy at the signing the unknown Lee Chung-Yong and injuried Ferrie Bodde??

Where is your logic? Or as I thought have you fuck all logic.

FWIW - I'd be happy with the lot of them

FFS our squad is as thin as Bury's.

We need two type of player this summer: squad fillers as well as quality in the starting 11.

From what I can see, the names we are being strongly linked with are what is needed. You can only have a dig at Megson when the transfer window closes and we discover if the likes of Chung-Yong, Bodde and Greening are the squad-filler type of signing or the quality-improve-the-team type.

In the meantime stop your fcuking winging and let Megson get on with it.

Looking through all the posts on here since the season ended, I cant see anything that I would define as moaning or whingeing.

Fans suggesting players or positions that need filling is part and parcel of the game. Why would anyone who loves football want to stop that speculation? All fans at all clubs enjoy the footy gossip, isnt that why most of us join forums anyway?

There's a lot on here I dont agree with, especially a Wanderers fan who recently lost his wife being referred to as a " gobshite" for expressing an honest opinion.

Some of you should think yourselves fortunate that we do have this and other forums to let off a bit of steam. Only used to be the Buff in my day.

what relevance does that have to what was said. from what i read it was referring to football, transfers and megson?

russell, ive tried to reply to you but i can't

we should have pms back soon and then i will

Me too, basically making the same point E does. You aren't some form of moral crusader, if you don't like it, you know where the golf course is.

Lee Chung-yong - Just turned 21 supposedly one of Asia's hottest prospects, Ok not proven at the highest level, but capped 16 times by Korea. No complaints if we sign him.

Zat Knight - Villa bought him to replace Cahill, personally I would rather have Cahill, but you need 2 centre halfs, and personally I think he is better than O'Brien and Sh!ttu, so happy if this one comes to fruition

Bodde - This is the one I am least sure about, the main question being how long it takes him to recover from the injury and then get up to the speed of the Premier League. Other clubs have had success bringing players in from lower leagues and I think from what I hear there is no reason to doubt he could be a Premier League player, but I feel we need someone fit from the beginning of the season.

Seems hard for some of these Asian lads to settle. Havent we had a couple who didn't set the place alight? The only succes I can think of is the one United got.

I rate Knight as average, rather in the Davenport mode. I would prefer we looked at someone who cant get in a top Prem side- bit like Cahill and Shawcross. I've seen Knight have a couple of shockers against us and actually rate Shittu higher.

Bodde- like most on here, I know little about him. Seems highly rated by pundits.

I will be interested in how Doyle and Cox go as they are two players who I think would have improved the team.

yeah, cahill was 5th

whats your point?

Wasn't one, I don't know much about Knight other than the drugs stuff a few years ago...I thought he was 4th choice centre half so I asked.

You're just as bad as the negative brigade for jumping on the slightest thing

For fuck's sake, where have all those with balanced views gone?

Ignoring all the speculation and waiting for all the pieces of the jigsaw to be put in place before making any judgement on Megsons plans for the coming season.

We don't know with the others, they could be good

Could be shit too, but I'd rather take the gamble on the Korean than go for the mediocre Greening
