  1. There will be well over 3000. When we played them in the League Cup the other year we only sold about 800 tickets in advance, and we ended up with a few being locked out. People will decide nearer the time, Bolton fans always do, Birmingham and Derby being two examples this season when we have had a lot paying on the day
  2. Both Milan clubs were drawn at home the same week in the Champions League, Inter have to play Liverpool a week later, so they could delay it a week. Benfica are the bigger club so it one game changes it will probably be ours.
  3. If he can bring in a centre half or three then I think we will switch to 5 3 2 Jussi Steinsson A'OB Michalik AN Other Taylor Nolan Cohen Guthrie Stelios / AN Other and Davies
  4. Vaz Te's equaliser in Portugal will take some beating for me.
  5. I think he will switch to five at the back and will at first stick with those that seem to have a big say - Nolan and Hunt, I think he will see Speed as a trouble causer and will be offloaded. Jaaskelainen Hunt Meite O'Brien Michalik Gardner Nolan Campo McCann Davies Anelka I think he knows he can't leave Anelka out, and he will be his one luxury Subs - A bit of flare to change a game where needed, but used sparingly.
  6. Personally I would like to see him try Michalik alongside A O'Brien. Drop Nolan for a bit, I'm not going to criticise his performances this season as I don't know how much is down to playing out of position, but if you aren't going to select him in his better position then don't play him. I would make Davies captain or even Campo.
  7. Megson's team / my team Jussi Hunt / O'Brien (J) Gardner Meite O'Brien (A) McCann / Alonso if he is fit Campo Nolan / Guthrie Diouf Davies Anelka My subs - Al Habsi, Michalik, Braaten, Mc Cann, Stelios
  8. 17th or above should be easily achievable, but if we don't get a few quick results I can see a player exodus in January, Anelka, Diouf, Jussi etc... as they will be worth more then than in the summer if we are relegated, and if they do go, then I can't see us staying up.
  9. Not at all impressed, but I have to agree it is not Megson's fault, and I think we should give him 10 games, I doubt it will make much difference but 3 more points would put us mid table so a couple of decent results will put us in a better looking position, and hopefully increase confidence. Hopefully people will support him and the players and save their protests about Gartside to outside the stadium or at least after the game. I seem to remember Gartside saying in the past that he would leave when Allardyce did, maybe he should have stuck to his word
  10. Radio Manchester seemed impressed the bit I listened to about the way he talked to his defence. They said the defence looked more organised / composed as a result. I'd keep some of the players in, sounds like one of our best performances, if you say you are giving players a change in the league cup, if they take it you have to keep them in.
  11. That will be all we have sold. If you can pay on the day the number will be higher. Would have gone myself but at the beginning of the season when Derby released their prices it implied that we would be GBP40 a ticket, that I think has put quite a few people off. Got other commitments now. Hopefully last nights result will tempt a few more
  12. I thought it was 23 or is that the Champions League, but working on the below players this would I expect be the squad 1 - A O'Brien 12 - Walker 2 - Hunt 13 - Al Habsi 3 - Samuel 14 - Davies 4 - Nolan 15 Cid 5 Meite 16 Teymourian 6 Speed 17 Guthrie 7 - J O'Brien 18 - Alonso 8 - Sinclair 19 - McCann 9 - Braaten 20 - Vaz Te 10 - Wilhelmsson 21 - Diouf 11 Gardner 22 - Jaaskelainen 23 - Anelka I have named 23 players there and only got 5 Youth players (OBrien, Nolan, Sinclair, Vaz Te and Hunt) and have missed out Harsanyi, Campo, Stelios, Helguson and Michalik out. I would be suprised if Michalik was not included, so who else has been missed out
  13. Players should look pretty fit in the first half of the first half of the season, as the season wears on you will probably see a difference. We definitely will, especially if we get through in Europe and thus playing 2 games a week. We may then see the benefit of so many players coming in in the summer, if we get knocked out, then we would have been better getting a couple of top players in instead.
  14. My team: Al Habsi, J O'Brien Cid Michalik Jamieson Alonso Campo Andranik Braaten Davies Wilhelmsson Subs: Walker. Anelka, Guthrie, Diouf, Stelios
  15. I think we need to give Andranik / Alonso a starting place to provide a bit more balance. I would also drop Nolan for Braaten or Wilhelmsson. I'd be tempted to gamble and play the following team next week. Jussi O'Brien O'Brien Meite Gardner Campo Speed / Alonso Braaten Diouf Anelka Wilhelmsson / Davies Subs:- Al Habsi, Hunt, Davies / Wilhelmsson, Speed / Alonso, Andranik They are obviously suspect at the back so I think pace up front would prove their undoing.
  16. Jussi Hunt A O'Brien, Meite, Gardener Campo Braaten Alonso Andranik Davies, Anelka Subs J O'Brien Cid Diouf Wilhelmsson Al Habsi Nolan McCann
  17. Reluctantly I think he has to go. I think he will pay the price for not strengthening the defence and of trying to radically change the way we play. You can't change it that quickly, especially when a fair chunk of the players playing have never played together - Cid, O'Brien, Samuel, McCann, then the subs he is using Wilhelmsson and Braaten. It may have been possible to change the way we play with one new player and slowly introduce others, but change the formation and bring in four or five new players at the same time, was never going to work. It doesn't help when players are playing out of position, mainly Nolan. I will admit I have been one of his biggest critics the last 12 months, but I don't think it is fair to criticise him when that isn't where he is effective. He needs time, we haven't got it.
  18. Apparently Everton now have a flight out to their game, but it is a whopping ?589 for the day trip
  19. I thought the club released their price first.
  20. He's saying that he is happy to stay and it would be the club's decision if he was sold. Basically if we need the money he will happily move on, if we don't then he's happy to stay. The question needs to be why do we need the money?
  21. Skysports news, reckoned from Harry's quotes that they had made a bid but nothing was happening.
  22. Don't really fancy being pelted with coins again.
  23. The only way to prove a point would be for no one to go to one of the Cup ties, probably the League Cup but then if we get drawn away it rules that one out. If Anelka and Diouf are sold, I think I will be going less frequently, still debating whether to bother with Saturday. Personally I think Diouf and Anelka and maybe even Jussi will be sold on the 31st August then they can use the argument that they had no time to buy replacements.
  24. Not watched MOTD either yet, hardly watched any this year with our current results.
