  1. Not a great fan of the monarchy myself , but surely they realise that their not just booing the King but also their own country, it’s clearly an attention seeking thing.
  2. Your right & plenty of reminders over the years , although in mitigation Sir Roger was having a stinker right up until that moment.
  3. We are going to miss him the long streak of pish
  4. Cheers well remembered, not like Bolty to jump to conclusions though is it ? For the record this moniker is about me making a c##t of myself when I shouted quite loudly from the Lever End that Hunt (Roger) should be subbed , seconds later he thumped the ball in the net & yes I got loads of ‘good natured’ abuse for months & even years after.Well deserved I suppose but my mates never let me forget it. Think the match was Torquay in the FA cup.
  5. Where have I slagged off our own players ? Tool.
  6. Nice to know Jethro Tull (living in the past) is still alive & well in one small part of Australia.
  7. Punching below the belt there Roger
  8. How do you determine that ? For the record I don’t want Everton to drop. Never bought into ‘the goal that never was ‘ there were still thirty minutes play after the Blake incident , plenty of time for an equaliser.
  9. floodlights same as Burnden , Watson construction.
  10. It’s Millwall at Cold Blow Lane
  11. Highfield rd. Coventry ?
  12. Last time I saw Ruth she was selling programes from a wheelchair , looked pretty fragile it was late on last season . Remember her from the old supporters club coaches back in the sixties. She must be 75+ by now.
  13. Certainly remember the York game it was a disaster at the time 1-2 I think .Carlisle home defeat was the season after we lost 3-4 on a waterlogged pitch again shooting ourselves in the foot in consecutive seasons , although it was not quite at the end of the season.
  14. Couldn’t fault Williams last night , playing CB & trying to play the ball out .Too many go missing in games like this .Sheehan seemed to be man marked first half & couldn’t get into the game , Morley was awful, only Dempsey showed any intent from midfield. As for our forwards their first touch was collectively clumsy. Not sure about Dan his decision making is gash even though he was fouled consistently & without sanction.
  15. As a left-sided midfielder Thomason gives good balance , given Lee & to a lesser extent Dempsey have been employed there.Lee would always get in the team before Thomason imo as he is always comfortable receiving the ball , something that Thomason needs to improve on along with notching a few goals , although he has come on leaps & bounds & has begun to show more aggression. In a more direct team he might be even more effective & there are one or two of those teams in the championship, so maybe playing in league one won’t be the limit of his abilities.
  16. Newcastle?

There you go bringing shithousery into the discussion

If the cctv of Dempsey being sparked out was available you might take a different viewpoint , not to diminish what he did of course. He has been punished by the law .If it impacts on his playing availability the club might take a hawkish view , I hope not.

Depends on the amount of adverse publicity it gets , club should ride it out say he’s apologetic etc .& not throw him under the bus for PR purposes . I’m not holding my breath , but at least it’s not sexual or racist so maybe just maybe the club will hold their nerve.

Whoosh that was a close one………he needs to stay away from Carlisle for a good while.

    What a woman .
  22. Iles seems to view our financial situation as steady , taking into account the hotel business etc. Custard will be along soon to give us the extrapolated version . hopefully not .
  23. One goal lead never enough , unfortunate not to get a second but only after Lee Morley & Charles came on .We were light on our left defensively when Thomason was subbed which left Mbete a bit exposed & his lunge resulted in the freekick for their goal , which was sloppily defended. With hindsight Evatt might have started with Lee instead of Shortire & maybe Charles instead of Victor who is either gash or we don’t play to his strengths, seems to make plenty of runs but rarely gets the ball.Jury is out for me.Bod offers more given our style of play although injury prone.
  24. They scored at the Lever End as well , think it was Fazakerley their centre-back from a corner. We had the last laugh though going up as champions.
  25. Hard watch second half but credit to Jones Mbete & Johnston mom for me. Never really in trouble first half but I think they showed us too much respect in that half , went for it more & our tiring players weren’t finding each other second half so we were reduced to wellying it up the park. Great win however & Trafford is a master of shithousery! Williams is naive to say the least as a defender , they targeted our left second half & somehow we got away with it thank god.
