  1. Coached a lad aged 6 who looked better than anything I'd ever seen, even scored an overhead kick direct from a corner. Nialls at Liverpool now pulling up trees but you just never know. Know a coach who picked Giggs as a lad in Denton Boys B team, like I said you just never know.

Hoping we get a double Garavan and Murray from Palace

Chairmen must love the introduction of FFP. It can be rolled out by any club as an excuse for poor financial planning and mismanagement. How much parachute money are Derby, Middlesbrough and Forest going to get this season? In 18 months we've gone from cock waving our money around to having less spending power than most of the division.

Crossed my mind too, a small Danish club doesn't look his best destination. Perhaps they are being paid a transfer fee for taking him on a free.

There is clearly a bigger picture we can't see much of. The way our finances are structured is very complex, along with plans to develop £100m of the stadium area. Our wage budget could be targeted as little as 25% of what it was 2 years ago to make our presence in this league sustainable long term without parachute payments. The long term club plans must be to increase non football related income to provide the club with a solid base to operate on without relying solely on TV monies to compete. Unfortunately a bad start to the season and pleasing the fans with attractive football will be well down the list of priorities until we actually look like being threatened with relegation or the fans turn en masse. Me thinks Gartside is going nowhere.
  6. Bargains galore in Spain still. Had a place there for 10 years, sold it recently when I set fire to my assets. Just think why you want it, if it's an investment then Ok, be ruthless and fill it as much as you can. If it's a home from home to spend your holidays I don't think it's worth the hassle IMO. You don't go on holiday to pay leccy bills and sort out maintenance etc. You feel duty bound to go to the same place year after year after year.
  7. What baffles me completely is Dfs priorities in terms of attitude and desire. It's something the fans like to hear yet we have the resilience and heart of a frozen pea. We NEVER look comfortable with a lead and sit back when losing. I'm starting to think he just likes players who don't question his tactics, don't moan when they're dropped and are happy to go along with anything the manager says. Admirable qualities but when they get on the pitch the lack of conviction and belief are there for all to see, just like they were with coyle. When the players look like they are comfortable and belive in whatever system they are being asked to play then we will have taken a big step forward. My worry is that we won't change things for a while yet for the sole reason that 'we aren't that type of club' A few games in and I'm already dreading the next home game. I don't want to dread going to the game cringing when people are booing. I want to feel like it's us against the world and if you have more ability we will sure as fuck give you a good game.

Wish I hadn't seen that. He'll always be my hero but unfortunately very human.

£10 on him being out first ball (ITK)

No need. That's not what I said. At least he isn't carrying on playing Beckford up on his own and Medo / Spearing holding hands. Boro and Forest have spent fortunes thus summer compared to us and we have been two bad refereeing decisions away from getting positive results from both. That said, for me DF has 10 games to get a minimum of 10 points or he should be potted. Until the 10 games are up I'm trying to stay positive as there's little chance he's going to be sacked before.

Didn't the fans get the starting line up they wanted?

our fans will one day get the players and manager they deserve.

But to fill a squad full of players who show blind faith in the system and are happy to be dropped and treated like they should be grateful is something fans and managers may clamour for. Maybe Ferguson / Paisley were like this, maybe Freedman will come good. I don't see a place for it in modern football, the players with talent haven't got the strength of character to let themselves be treated this way, even by their own parents. Once again with our manager I genuinely hope I'm wrong.

I would prefer ANY manager who has a plan (good / bad / other) that the players believe in and buy into I can't remember that happening in years. The teams we have put out have shown confusion / apathy at their role or position, some have been accused of having bad attitudes etc. but I don't think it's that simple. You work with what you've got, all the best managers do.
  15. Ecig alert !!??

I'd mustered up a bit of close season optimism over the past few weeks. It managed to ebb away over the course of the 80 minutes I stayed today. It might be effective but fuck me watching Beckford trying to close down 3 defenders strolling it around being the only player in their half is painful. How many of our 6 wins last season did we play like this? Fuck it I'll put it down to pre season not arsedness but that formation bugs the hell out of me.
  17. My dad booked a cheap holiday to Romania in 1985. We were followed everywhere by secret police, restaurant in the hotel served food on prison trays. Hardly spoke to another soul all the time we were there. My dad was championing the cheap ale all the time, get his drift now though when I was 12 it didn't cut it. The way he talked it up when we got home to mask his tight fistedness made you think we'd been to Barbados.
  18. Its always a tense affair.
  19. In winter my Gran used to complain about the thin (cold) wind or a lazy wind (go through you and not round you)
  20. Think it may have been posted on here once but Wet Spam's 'when the ball hits your head, at the back of row Z, that's Zamora' The shit Leeds gave Graham Poll non stop one year at ours was on another level.
  21. I bet the Queens arse is going like a rabbits mouth.
  22. I'm actually embarrassed for them. What a fucking shambles.

Good planning by them to get their 15/16 championship squad together now.
