  1. Agree with that, he is indeed a family man. I don't know him personally, but I have a neighbour who is a friend of his and knows him well. He seems to think Sam loves the club. I see a similar thing with lineker and Leicester. Didn't let his love of the club hinder his career, few do, but they don't forget either. Anyway, I guess we'll see in the months to come.
  2. And huge bush fires and droughts... Cars stuck in floods in bury though. Can't win.
  3. Indeed we do. I know I do at times; sometimes I'll see an old post and think "why did I write that"?
  4. Not sure that's any better.
  5. I expected a bit more confidence amongst the players, didn't expect anything but a struggle, but after last years promotion, I'm a bit surprised by the number of comments after games saying we seemed to lack heart and effort. For me being fairly well organised and team spirit were the cornerstones of promotion.
  6. Might be worth a punt on them being relegated, if they appoint Dougie, then the odds will drop.
  7. I know where you're coming from mate, but I'd have anyone who could help. He's a cunt, but our cunt sort of thing.
  8. You're rigbt he isn't. I doubt very much he'd want to buy us- on his own; but with partners/consortium may be different. The clubs in his blood, and it wouldn't cost that much to buy relatively speaking. Doesn't necessarily need mega deep pockets to fund the club as ken has done so much to reduce costs. As ken has asserted already, he's willing to sell on to a serious bidder, would need someone with confidence that the club can stabilise, and maybe there's an opportunity. As said elsewhere, a lot of that will depend on our position further down the line. Wouldn't be a great surprise if he was to be involved in some way.
  9. How do you know he couldn't? It was a bit of a jocular comment based around our parlous financial state, however if you're taking it seriously then unless you have access to his finances, you don't know either way. Kinell given everyone's assertion that he's a greedy cunt he may have millions stashed away.
  10. That's excellent. Given the forecast for tomorrow night, it may be useful to use the keeper with the longest kick. McDonagh revisited.
  11. Been wondering the same zico. Ka is a hard business man, and says he's not had a wage yet. He's going to want something back sooner or later. Getting the embargo lifted would help with investors, but so is league position. Reckon we'd need to be close enough to get out come the next window if money was put in. If that's not looking likely, then it wouldn't surprise me if ka acted.
  12. A joke. They outplayed Burnley the other day, just finishing was awry. Given a few more games they'd have been OK.
  13. From what I heard losing a friend in the men bombing had a profound effect. In terms of cash, he could probably buy the club. Maybe an opportunity back at home would be appealing. Once the initial press coverage had died down, he'd be under less scrutiny than at a prem club, and he'd have more "time" from the supporters than those from other clubs. Anyhow, all just hearsay.
  14. I agree entirely re the Wednesday game and follow up performance. It was obviously the best we'd played this season, and for me the same team and set up should have played the next game. If you do well and are rewarded with being dropped its not going to help your commitment, especially when you see what the "firsts" achieve.
  15. Has ranvir had them done? When she was younger don't remember her being so curvy.
  16. I'll check the flights out!
  17. I'm trying really hard not to adopt that thinking. Can't argue with his achievements under difficult conditions, but if an investor came into the club, I'm not sure how effective his spending would be.
  18. Well that's hardly a recommendation for Caxton Street!
  19. How much energy must be required to achieve that? Truly astronomical. Pity we can't harvest it in some way.
  20. The lake has returned at the bottom of my mum's street. Will probably stay now until around April. Everywhere is sodden, was hoping to do some late lawn sowing, not happening.
  21. Maybe. I'm looking for a bit more leadership on the field, and as we all known when confidence is low performance levels drop. Looking for players to show a bit more with the ball and not be fearful of making a mistake. A lot of that needs to come from training and tactics, and maybe with the number of new players time is needed for the squad to gel. Get that spirit and players will go that extra mile, even if they aren't aware of doing so.
  22. Me too. Not sure in what specific capacity though.
  23. I've recorded white god- anyone seen it- is it worth bothering as its Hungarian with English subtitles.
  24. A bit young for him to be getting wed?
  25. Here's a thought, if we did come out of the embargo, then it would allow us to sign lads on better wages- could that be a kick up the pants to some of our irreplaceable, current incumbents, as in pull your socks up or some else can be brought in. Is it possible that some feel too secure, irrespective of their wage.
