  1. What a shame, not sure how long ago you all went, but its quite some time since our kid did, and he absolutely loved Bourbon street, with its music etc.
  2. Working at a uni at the time. Loads of employees gathered in a large room with a TV. Utterly jaw dropping time.
  3. Not sure its quite as simple as that. All this is way over my swede, but a chap on the box a few weeks ago explained it as being a necessary 'temporary' measure whilst the unique situation is addressed. From what he was saying, I got the impression that once we'd left parliament would then be able to revisit stuff as necessary. It just needed doing quickly with ministers making initial alterations as necessary to prepare for the leaving date. That said its a minefield, and if it was shown that an abuse of power was indeed going on, then a weakish government may well be fucked
  4. Quite. When you here people in the footage, its a horrendous realisation that something huge and sinister, maybe even war, has just started.
  5. Aye. Not sure about before the game either. Getting blustery now.
  6. My thoughts too. Apart from a mockery of a match, safety of the public must be an issue. No one wants folk, especially old dodderers, to be blown over or hit by something. Can imagine bus domino toppling.
  7. Like zico I can watch and learn continuously. Whenever I see the second plane in particular, my blood runs cold.
  8. Aye. We need some periods of proper cold weather too. It encourages blossoming and fruit production which is important economically. Can help twat pests too. And its shit not being able to build a snowman.
  9. Its a legal and economic necessity though. Allows the wheels to keep turning. Ministers can then alter them accordingly. Apparently.
  10. There's all sorts of spiritual stories around, I heard one recently that blew my mind. I used to know, as a kid, when the whites had scored (away matches when I wasn't there). Some strange things abound, too many to ignore, but best not to go to deep. Could screw you up.
  11. They've just won for the first time this season. Ah well at least that cant do that against us now.
  12. Think you might have a point there.
  13. Secure your squeegee.
  14. Batten down your eggs.
  15. Fascinating listening to him talk tactics. Cunt or not its interesting.
  16. He did do well. I had a brief flip through woys career history. He's had numerous jobs and garnered a great deal of experience. Never stayed for particularly long which is clever. Show some promise and achieve some success. Then move on, and gradually work your way upwards. Mourinho does similar. Fair enough, but being able to achieve success then keep achieving it, reinventing teams over a prolonged period of time at one club is something else.
  17. My brother went to new Orleans many years ago and loved it. Not sure if its the same after Katrina though. Not right bothered by big cities; would love to go more up north for the "fall". Colours are incredible.
  18. Been looking on lightningmaps to see if anything near here. East Anglia is full of storms. A big fucker been in kings lynn, now in Norwich heading east.... Make it a badger and a couple of adders.
  19. Can someone in the know answer this? Can we sign players (free obviously) but offer them, a bonus or some such, that allows us to pay them a lump sum once the embargo is lifted, by means of compensation for low initial wages. Deferred salary if you will.
  20. This former arsenal bloke? God knows!
  21. Thankyou. He would have come with a huge price tag too. Big name, funded with big money. Incomparable for me.
  22. No need to has he. In a different set of circumstances who knows. Not saying Sam will with us, can only go off comments made to me, and reading/listening to him over the years. As mounts has said something similar to what I was told, I found it interesting. It may well be something and nowt, probably is, but arguing that he will definitely not be back in some form or other, is a bit daft. Unless of course you are BSA, know him or are married to him, in which case I'll accept that nothing's doing.
  23. Thunder and lightning down sweep's way. What's he been up to?
  24. You maybe right. But when a lot of folk say it, many of whom have been watching for many years there may be something to it. I've not seen much so far this season, so can only go off posts on here, and personal testimonies. Discussing palace an the other thread- they were excellent against Burnley and lost. Certainly didn't lack confidence and played very well.
