They signed ACD on a 4 year deal, if that 3rd year is spent out on loan (like the previous 2) then maybe they don't fancy him. I think if Reform were serious about winning this seat (and I'm not sure they are) they would have put a far higher caliber individual in the running, in order to give Labour a bloody nose.
