Summed up the season. Crap opponents , should have been game over and 3-0 up-inside 10 minutes. scruffy goal, should have had a pen, they scored, could have lost. was it 11 home wins and only 5 home games ahead at half time. 18 defeats overall. a totally underwhelming, disappointing and poor season with very few positives to take.

Sure it was 4-1, one of my favourite aways that - crazy scenes had a few good days out at pne over the years

If we are all honest, we aren’t good enough to be promoted this season. we have lost 15 games in 41 and that ain’t promotion form in any year. we are inconsistent to say the least, have got hammered too often, don’t score enough and don’t score at the times when we should. even with ss, we have lost 5 games we probably shouldn’t and maybe won a couple we shouldn’t. ss has had his hands tied behind his back due to no transfer window and injuries. He needs summer to root out what he doesn’t want and bring in who he does - and I am sure he already knows this. However, we have certainly improved since he has taken over. taking to a Huddersfield fan today and he was saying they aren’t good enough and that really it’s best if they don’t make the play offs and start a fresh in august, rather than having a hangover from losing in the play offs - and I maybe tempted to agree. that said, I will still be at Barnsley and Lincoln as you just never know - but sometimes I think we need to look at it in the cold light of day and accept the situation for what it is rather than through rose tinted glasses.

Ref aside, Stockport had some big chances and Baxter was superb and kept the score down. overall they deserved to win and did all the things we don’t like - in you face, aggressive, close quick, niggly. This shows for me that when it comes to this big games, we don’t necessarily have the players for it. We need some shit houses to get us out of this league rather than all nice players. I am sure Schumacher has already seen who he thinks does but it (Dempsey and santos aside) but it was too late for this season for him to start bringing in and shipping out players. Evatt built a nice to watch on the eye team, but that doesn’t get you out of this league. (Apart from backways and sideways) be certainly interesting to see what happens in the next 2 games where we will see more of the same.

We missed some sitters and gave some silly goals away. can’t win with either of those. not a disaster, but the next 3 for us are huge given our history in these fixtures. we were never going to go to the end of the season unbeaten, chances are top 2 is a stretch too far. get in the playoffs as one of the form teams and then see where we get to. please, please, please can we beat Stockport…….

Really good play first half, although should have had the game out of sight. why thommason didn’t shoot I will never know. sloppy first 10 of the second half, good that we responded so quick as they would have settled for a point and wasted time. forrester and toal were superb and I thought Morley had another good game. was never going to be easy this game, so a real boost. Results also went our way.

First half an hour they seemed pretty accomplished and we were struggling to keep the ball, despite a purple of good chances. Their goal seemed a decent finish. but then we scored and it went from there. the pressing, aggression and desire second half was the best I have seen since the Plymouth final and the melee at the end reminded me of the battle of burnden - all in as a team looking out for each other. a great win, a great night, now to put the ghost of burton to bed.

For me a decent point. If you can’t win then don’t lose. forrester was immense and Gomes little cameo was decent. sheehan got smashed time after time and thought thommason should have come on earlier for him. they missed 2 sitters second half, but overall a point gained. we would have lost that game under the old regime. quite a few results went against us, but get over Tuesday and then let’s see.

Wigan didn’t and neither did a few others. No chance we get the whole side

Quite impressed with Wigan, but not sure how much was Huddersfield being really poor. charles did little apart from good cross for goal, 9 without scoring now.

Collins and Cogley were superb and I thought forrester was a man mountain second half. mcatee didn’t do a great deal up top in his own and victor spent more time on the floor than on his feet. schon had 3 attacking passes to slip Cogley in and failed all 3 and matete was dreadful. great in game management from our leader. they underwhelmed considering the run they have been on. can’t keep giving the first goal away. but another great result and the other fixtures also went our way

Never play well, a pain to get to. in

Looked good orient, quick on the break and strong. wrexham lost their way after orient went 2-1 up. really need to win Saturday after tonight’s games

My shins were shredded, pissed as anything, top sing song, brilliant chat with friends, 3 points and just a top day out. bolton are back and it’s great to have that feeling again

2 late goals for them tonight

Played ok, need to do more when on top. proves vic is poor and mcatee not much better. we both had some decent players missing (Morley, Randell, geordie full back, tutu and Collins cameos) saves us a potentially expensive, moody day out, probably outnumbered at Wembley. on to the bread and butter and getting into these play offs
