The Dome was quite plush & would probably have done well closer to Bradshawgate but was too far off the beaten track to last long.

This morning was the first I’ve seen from the pundits. Thought the ones after the Lionesses were great. Though the Scottish las after the USA didn’t really seem to know what to say other than the basics. 

In other news - Lauren James is the best I’ve seen in the women’s game. Might be getting carried away there, but she looked superb. Seems to be handling the expectation so far 🤞

Personally, I think it’s good to give women this chance to skill up & gain experience. Particularly the officials. I don’t have a problem with it. After decades of discrimination, it’s a means of making things fairer. I don’t think many male pundits or refs have a problem either.

But it’s a fine balance between positive action and discrimination. Which is why I’d be interested to know if any male pundit/officials have put a complaint in.

I think they’ve got it right based on the gov guidance.

Though it’s up for debate & I can understand the argument for someone like Wright helping raise the profile of the game by doing some punditry.

Much of this is connected to ESG etc, and no doubt some employers, across all sectors, are perhaps wary of not doing enough, so go heavy instead.

Bizarrely, if over applied could they end up in a Coutts like situation?

As for the footy, it doesn't spoil it, especially as after the game, like the blokes, I turn it off as it's all a bit tedious.

Aye it’s a fine balance. I think they’ve got it right here. 

I’ve worked in schools that have actively looked for more males as it’s good for the kids to have a balance.

As you & Wooli point out, it’s not really something worth being bothered about. Good opportunity for the women pundits & refs to make a name for themselves. Bit of an overreaction to say it’s an equality issue.

I had it on in the background while I was working, and enjoyed it. All 6 goals (plus the disallowed one) were great finishes. Love us to win this. Didn't know we'd won the Finalissima against Brazil after the Euro's! Didn't even know it was a thing to be honest. My 11 year old lad had to educate me. 😁

Oh, and Earps impressed me too with a couple of decent saves, particularly the second. I, like many reckon the keeping in the women's game is week, but she was athletic and strong.

In all honesty, I doubt the men are that interested or familiar enough with female game to talk about a game subjectively 

Let the woman go for it, if it means far more to them and they can talk about it with more interest and passion
