It's the commentary that does my head in more than anything mind. If something is shit - say it's shit like you would with the men's. 

I saw one of the worst corners in the history of womankind about ten minutes ago and they tried to make out it was a clever ploy. 

In the women's game, from the top teams to the bottom, the decision making and execution of some of the simple things are shocking. I thought England would run the Haitian team ragged later on. It didn't happen. Earps save late on was class.

Sure, the Women's WC standard isn't what we're used to in the men's game, but then, we're lightyears behind City, Madrid and the like.

If anyone on here was that arsed about "quality", they'd have given up and gone to the Etihad a long time ago.

I don't think it works like that.  But I get your point.

Folk need to stop comparing the women's game against the men's. No one does that in the tennis. It really does show a lack of intelligence in the people who do use the men's game as a rule of thumb for the women's game.

I see football played by kids a lot and at times its fooking terrible and frustrating. But that's just me and my critical eye. It's not me judging them against the best in the world. They are doing something they want to do to the best of their ability against teams of a similar ability. What's wrong with that?

In fairness, most football supporters and, (in the case of my daughter, who plays women’s football,) female players, nobody is really comparing. Well, nobody except Sky Sports, BBC and ITV sports programmes who, if we’re dead honest, probably only do it to create either mischief or talking points. 

England about to kick off their second game. I’m currently toying with the idea of going out to one of the many pubs which will be opening up early so I can take advantage of their big screens.

Anyone know which pub I should go to?
