England Women’s Football

I know this is the French, but still a good tweet.

Come on England!

Perhaps not as strong as we were for the Euros, but still in with a good shout.

England about to kick off their second game. I’m currently toying with the idea of going out to one of the many pubs which will be opening up early so I can take advantage of their big screens.

Anyone know which pub I should go to?

🤣🤣🤣🤣

The one on bradshawgate with the portugese landlord,   any of you remember what it was called at the time he had it ?   Used to love watching England games in there back in the day and cant remember for the life of me what it was called at that time.

Corner of Silverwell St?
Cottons?

Aye.

I'm thinking "Cottons" might be a mix up with the bar in the Pack Horse which was called The Cotton Bar?

You know I think it was cottons.   Reason I think that is one night I got a taxi to go to cottons and he took me to the cotton tree - a lovely establishment for anybody who doesn't know it.

And yeah it was corks at one point.

No, lads.

Cottons was on the corner of SIlverwell St facing Pack Horse and across from Tiggi's.
Was know as Post Office for a while.
Corks was further down, facing Primark and next to Norton Barrie.

Trust me.

Corks was where Uniteds mob were in and we were kettled in Yates opposite.

Right, watch the correct spelling and pronunciation brigade come out in force,  it was always known as Corks's

If you really are from Bolton any word ending in S when used in a descriptive way is pronounced with an is on the end.

Eg. " Ooh this pastie is nice, wheres it from? , Its a Carrs's".

Or

"So where we meeting?, Corks's?

Was cheering the Portuguese on then. Post in the 92nd minute to knock the USA out!

No men on the flat dicks panel again!

Just seen England's fourth chalked off.

Head scratcher for sure.

A bit leftfield but anyone remember the name of a bar on knowsley street near Victoria hall.   Was in the frandsen era,  a popular haunt for the players on a satday night,  was a nice setup at the time.

Somehow I think I remember the name.

Lauren James with sensational finishes. Great technique.

Yeh didn’t make sense.

They’ve scored some great goals today, that 4th is a belter 👏

Lauren James is a fantastic player.

2 goals should have been 3. 3 assists too.

A unit but very mobile. Apparently she's right footed but that volleyed goal was a superb finish with her left.
