Just seen that she stamped on someone,  well that has messed up all the lucrative contracts she had coming her way.   Silly girl

Didn't hurt Beckham in the long term but it took him a few years to turn public opinion back around. Could be similar for James but it was a nasty, petulant thing to do.

I agree,  it did take a while till brand Beckham took over but now in this world of Karens and snowflakes it really hasnt helped her.   I only thought about this as she is currently on an advert for somet pre world cup and just had me thinking at weekend that this girl will do well for herself post world cup.    Hope it hasnt damaged things to badly for the girl

Real shame for James. She’ll be earning ok money but not much. She could have led us to glory and been one of the star’s of women’s football. She won’t be getting any sponsorship for a while after that. Just a really really stupid thing to do. It wasn’t even like she was provoked. Truly terrible performance today but we’re through.

Just had a quick look. Stanway is a regular penalty taker. From what I can see she’s only missed one.

Kelly's was a belting pen as was Daly's, proper Harry Kane job, top left corner

As much as James was at fault, I'm not sure it's going to impact her career.

It wasn't a stamp neither- we've all seen enough of football to know the difference- she was just momentarily petulant and paid the price- rightly so. 

Biggest issue will be her lack of availability for next game.

It was a stamp , not vicious but still a stamp. (Posted at same time as TMGJ post above so not aimed directly at him - the only debate would be how aggressive is a stamp compared to deliberately standing - moot point as both are violent conduct and a red) 

Difference between Beckham and James (apart from the obvious penis) is that we got knocked out after Beckhams. James depending on ban could be back for semi (if we are still in) 

The last pen was as good as one could get, some bottle there.

In commentary they said at least 1 maybe more, but not sure they knew what they were talking about.

The point is if we were to go on and win it the red would be forgotten.

I always thought violent conduct was a three game ban, with 1 game bans being the punishment for things like professional fouls (foul as the last defender), goalkeepers’ non-violent red cards, handball on the line etc.

Tournament specific rules. Not sure the players had mic say in them.

The rule was the same in the Men's World Cup.
