  • I really wouldn't care if we'd knocked a hatful of goals in against the DMB great grandmothers. It's a big win against the filth that will cause some discomfort somewhere in that rancid organisation.

That's one of the biggest indictments about the tournament of the lot.

Correct. It really doesn’t get more ridiculous than this.

The comparison of Wembley in April to this tonight, surely is the biggest chasm in football ideology our club has ever witnessed.

It's a disgrace, but these academies being allowed into the tournament has just become normalised now.

When riff raff like Harrogate and Crawley are edged back into non league to accommodate a PL academy side into the league system "for the future benefit of the England team", its over.

That's the end game, isn't it?

Certainly wouldn't want to lose this, but don't want us to get anywhere near the final again. Would probably been in thw Championship now but for this Mickey Mouse Cup.

Sometimes I think nahh don't be daft you AMF idiot there would be uproar, then other times I think would there really? Or would it just slip through because nobody cares enough anymore and the game's already gone so why not let it be gone a little bit more.

This is where we are at.

Particularly prem fans. They haven't got a fucking clue or care about the football pyramid.

Todd Boehely getting called the worst football club owner ever on twitter this weekend. Get. To. Fuck

Oh there'd be plenty arguing that a  Chelsea or City B team fielding their super kids in a professional league system would be better for everyone than having a team full of cloggers scraping around at the arse end of the 92 in front of less than 2k.

Think they’d have to sneak them in to the FA Cup first before they tried the leagues. It’s been attempted in Scotland - arguably a much easier sell in a lot of ways - and has been a complete failure.

I don't think it is.

Certainly better not be.

Our football and sport is based around competition and the occasional success of the "small clubs".

Remove that and we're on the slippery slope to franchised football, and then perhaps a split into a proper, competitive league and a sham, glitzy elite boring the fuck out of folk.

Yes but without the income from Wembley we might never have been able to afford to sign Dan.

I say working but this my plans for the foreseeable future PXL_20230926_152203284.thumb.jpg.c2365b403a63f76a4b559f78ccdf8901.jpg

With so many injuries and people out atm it will be really frustrating if the only changes are Jones and Baxter. If the B team are't utilised at this point one has to ask what the point of them even is.

Man Utd youth team against our first team in a proper fixture. If you had told me that 20 years ago I would have been incandescent with rage. Now it’s just another thing as the game loses its soul.

Very B team heavy bench that.

Were even money

We should be winning this

We’re not!!!

1/5 best price on exchanges. 1/10 with B/Fred etc…..

Be at least 4-0 to us I would have thought.

What are you gibbering on about now?

I'm lost on it too!

Anyway, a strong team, Evatt clearly wanting to do well again.

Hopefully get it done, and give a go to a couple of kids later on.

Matheson should be starting this

Ashworth's injury must mean he's out for a while given he's not in the squad

That's our first (only) choice backline right now, so light

Ok.

IE states that he doesn't have an unlimited budget and the small squad is the result of that and that injuries have been an issue.

Rest is the number 1 thing you can do to lessen the chance of further injury after the game on Saterday.

Yet he's basically picked the same squad as the game on Saterday, risking more players.

It doesn't make sense, he can use the some or even the entire B team, all fresh and biting at the bit for an opportunity to prove themselves.
