Arrested development Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Since they have scored we've been way too slow and passive with the ball and we aren't defending their balls in the box. Thomasson needs hooking at half time because he's going to get sent off. Nlundulu's first touch is shocking. Making it hard for ourselves against a basic long ball team Quote
Whitesince63 Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 We’re getting absolutely murdered physically here and our passing is so bad it’s embarrassing. IE needs to get George off before he’s sent off and we need to move the ball quicker and cut this awful slow walking stuff at the back. We’re lucky it hasn’t cost us already. Dans been just awful, back to his lumbering best so he certainly needs hooking. Quote
CambridgeBWFC Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Their strikers are causing all sorts of problems for our defence and we have Dan the man with the control of a brick wall Quote
kent_white Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Someone tell me what the point of Josh Sheehan is. Fucking hell! He's supposed to be an attacking midfielder. Quote
CambridgeBWFC Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 If we finish the game with 11 men I will be amazed. Iredale with a stupid push after his yellow, asking for a red Quote
Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted October 3, 2023 Site Supporter Posted October 3, 2023 Not had it our way first half. No great surprise perhaps as we knew what they would bring to the table. Some work required at half time. Quote
barrycowdrill Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 They’re all thick as fuck these men. Fall in to traps and stupid challenges without fail then you’ve got a front man who can’t control a bag of cement utter dross so far Quote
Site Supporter Spider Posted October 3, 2023 Site Supporter Posted October 3, 2023 90 minute game, lads. Quote
auckland_bwfc Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Not sure who the biggest clown is Thomason or Iredale.... I remember starting off as a young cricketer, not being good enough trying to mix it above my level and reverting to bravado bollocks. Ah well. Level and something to go at second half . We know they ain't gonna change their setup so let's gooooooo Quote

little whitt Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 3 subs at HT before we end up with 9 men Quote
Rizlar Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 How bad is Dan what did IE see in him and agree GT is going to get sent off ! Quote
Wanderlust Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Evans easily winning the tactical battle so far. Our passing has gone out of the window under pressure all over the pitch and with their strikers fancying themselves to dominate our CBs, pumping it forward and bypassing the midfield makes every sense from their perspective. Tricky one for Evatt because we need to close the back door first and foremost but that could mean abandoning our natural game. Somehow we've got to massively improve our passing. Quote
Deanu Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 We allow the ball to bounce, they win the second balls, we react by constantly bringing them down. Iredale & Thomason look like walking sending offs for the second half the way they’re going. Ball keeps bouncing off of Dan’s trampoline feet back to them, Toal miles off it for his standards Quote
Wanderlust Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 TBF Reid got a lucky bounce off Toal for the goal - but once he broke away it was an excellent finish. Quote

Greg_BWFC Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Making hard work of this. Simple game at this level. Give the opposition chances to mess up. Working OK for them Plenty of time yet Quote

Their goal came directly from a Dan mistake; it gave the ball to them and we were left exposed at the back pushing forward attacking their box. Quote
Rizlar Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Couple of changes at halt time and we can beat this lot but IE needs to react to Evans game plan. Quote
Wanderlust Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Stevenage fans saying they haven't seen their team press so high before and reckon Evans has got it spot on. Hard to disagree. So if we can move it quicker between the lines and beat their press - and keep control of it or get efforts off when we do get at them it should make life easier. Quote

They're playing their game much better than we are playing ours. Need to find a way to win matches like these as we aren't finishing higher than playoffs otherwise. Quote

Usually we are very good against teams that press aggressively but we've been too slow today and that's made it easy for them. Quote
