Playing a game as directed by EFL due to international call-ups? They arranged their outstanding match on the previous midweek away to Fleetwood. The EFL doesn't direct when rearranged games should be scheduled, it's up to the two clubs. Quote

I don't think we've got any proper cover at Left Wing Back. Iredale is ok inside, but not on the outside. Not athletic enough. I'm sure Matheson could do a job if called upon on the other side, but whilst I like the look of him, JDC has been fantastic for us this season Quote
Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted November 9, 2023 Site Supporter Posted November 9, 2023 Iredale has probably played more for us as a lwb than inside. He doesn't possess the same attacking pace, but offers more defensively. A tweak to personnel or tactics would account for that. It's only recently that folk have got off the back of Williams too. Williams has improved massively. He's still a massive shithouse though when it comes to tackling though. Iredale improves us defensively, but weakens us offensively. Quote
captainmed Posted November 9, 2023 Posted November 9, 2023 A draw here wouldn’t be a disaster considering our recent run. We would still be on 2+ points a game. Crucial we don’t lose or questions will once again be asked about our mentality in “big” games against local rivals. Be lovely to go into the break with 3 points mind and 5 league wins on the trot. I really wouldn’t like to call this one….. Quote

However, to win a local derby where they bring a large following and they're bang up for it, would be massive for us. Quote
barrycowdrill Posted November 9, 2023 Posted November 9, 2023 Iredale does have better delivery than Williams. Horses for courses really but williams does have the more appropriate ability for the way we primarily play Quote

mattbwfc19 Posted November 9, 2023 Posted November 9, 2023 Ben Toner reffing this game, hasnt he sent Evatt off a few times? He also reffed the final vs Plymouth and failed to send two of their players off, not got the best memory of him Quote

Definite L1 player. Some who get a move up to the champ you can see why and know they’re going to make the step. He isn’t one which is why it failed with Hull one of the main areas of recruitment for me if we were to go up Edited November 9, 2023 by barrycowdrill Quote

They reckon he was very decent for them when he got his chances in the Championship, just fell out of favour with management changes. Quote

A draw is sort of acceptable given our points total. We must not lose this though. Quote

frank_spencer Posted November 9, 2023 Posted November 9, 2023 Is ashworth still out injured? He's supposed to be lwb cover but never seems to be fit. Quote

They've been speculating higher and higher numbers but the club have said it's around 4k currently. More the merrier at £30 a ticket IMO - all contributions gratefully accepted. Quote

Decent following, and a toss article. If some of these clubs had bigger grounds, then other teams would take bigger away followings. Have they been to Wigan yet, and if so, then what was it? Quote
