    The 2011 cup run may have ended in embarrassment but ending up three rows forward and about 20ft to the right after Chungys last minute header Vs Brum is forever ingrained on my brain and my shins.

Agreed

I think we have a very strong squad who all know their jobs

But there are one or two who any club in div 3 would miss

And theyre 'spine' players

so there is a risk but many of our injuries seem to be traing ground ones

I dont think its the playing games as much as having less time to work on stuff

Evatt knows what hes doing, hes protected charles all season even when the experts have known better

If he thinks its getting too much, he will do what needs doing

Would agree with that

They have plenty of times in recent history. Considering they are an insignificant club down the road.

anyway what will be will be. I loved seeing Bolton at Wembley and would do again. I would remember another Wembley win over promotion personally

Do we have the best squad in the league or do we just have a first 11 who can only cope with one competition?

We have a strong squad, albeit currently we’re missing Dan and Carlos MG who you’d expect to be starters in the EFL Trophy. Plus, with Gethin away it means Forrester is now in the starting 11, rather than being a good person to bring on for the EFL trophy.

Add the long term injury to George J and I’d say our current position in 2 cups and the league shows the strength we have.

This post will look silly if we lose the next 3 games, mind… 😁

Promotion isn't about remembering one day though.... it's the whole of next season - and beyond.

Think @Lt. Aldo Raine was correct on first post.

It’s changed from last year:

Quarter Finals.

  1. The eight winners from the Round of 16 will contest the

    quarter-finals.

  2. The Quarter Final pairings are determined by means of an

    unseeded draw but on a regionalised basis (North and South). The League shall determine the placing of Clubs in each of the two regions prior to the draw.

I was right about the QF being regionalised but implied the semi-finals wouldn't be, which we don't yet know

It's because @Big E has a foam finger collection that he'd like to add another one to

I’m hoping to see this happen.

I think the 2 extras are Santos and Maghoma. Both of whom didn’t play all 4 of the holiday fixtures

And that side would be well covered on the eligibility criteria:

Full Available Strength’ means the EFL Club must include at least four Qualifying Players in the ten outfield Players named in the starting eleven on the Team Sheet.

Qualifying Player means any Player who:
  1. had started the immediately preceding First Team Fixture (as defined below);

  2. subsequently starts the immediately following First Team Fixture;

  3. is in the list of ten Players at the Club with the highest number of starting appearances in First Team Fixtures in the same Season;

  4. has made forty or more starting appearances in First Team Fixtures or international equivalents (and not limited to the same Club or Season);

Come on Bolton. Let’s win every game now

if a load of youngish lads can't run about a bit for 90 mins twice a week, we've got problems

They must've changed it this year but it's now regionalised until the semi-final stages

Jackpot, good spot! Makes absolute sense (and would do for the semi, but I don’t think that’s the case as they don’t necessarily want a guaranteed north v south or they’d just go back to the separate regional finals)

I suspect the PJT bosses/authorities will want to see a Bolton v Blackpool final, which looks the most attractive on paper, and the obvious history. Im pretty sure they wont want any off the Southern quartet, Peterbro, Wycombe, Wimbledon or Brighton under 21s, which none are remotely well supported. It could well happen.

Blackpool's average crowd is around 1300 more than that of Peterborough.

They're not that massive.

I reckon if Brighton u 21s got there, then they would readily sell their allocation. They're a well supported club.
