Football on TV is generally shite. I’ll watch a game whilst doing something else. I deffo don’t hang about after to watch the likes of Neville and Carragher fucking about with a giant iPad.

It’s death by analysis and if anything we need less of that shite.

Play the game, interview the goalscorers and the managers and get the fuck off air and leave me be to watch Antiques Roadshow

Anyroad, one thing for certain is it wouldn’t be improved by bringing a prick like Barton onboard.

It’s growing for the rich clubs. Outside the prem is not healthy.  Anyway the women’s game is going to go from strength to strength IMO

So is the men's game going backwards in terms of size?

Haven't we sold more S/Ts than in recent years?

The women's game will go from strength to strength because it's coming from a low starting point so the only way is up

I don't have sky so don't see them, mainly listen to football podcasts and the radio.

Hence you thinking that list of utter shite you just posted are well informed pundits.

Watch a bit of football and you might understand.

So because I don't watch Sky I have no idea about female pundits?

The ones I listed I think are good and very knowledgeable. Maybe you should broaden who you watch and listen to?

Maybe you should say, I don't like the women pundits on Sky Sports to clarify your position?

Im saying you dont watch enough football to have an informed view. Thats why that list you posted seems good in your mind.

If you actually watched a lot of football you'd realise there are much much better out there. Not just on sky either.

Irrespective of their sex. But all the best ones are male and have the most informed view.

And I'm saying you watch/read too narrow a selection to take a view that 'all women are rubbish pundits'

That for clarity, is all women, every single one of them. Which as has been pointed out is clearly guff.

I dont watch a narrow selection.

I dont like many women pundits as most arent there on expertise or knowledge.

Thats the idea of a pundit in my eyes. Its quota filling and nothing else.

Theres plenty of crap male pundits by the way.

All the best and most informed pundits out there are male.

I wondered when quota filling would come up.

We also weren't talking about a bestest league, your contention that all women pundits are rubbish is clearly, as has been demonstrated incorrect. You might not like them, for whatever reason, but to say those I listed are uniformed, poor in knowledge and bad broadcasters is wrong.

And as I say, thankfully one day people won't even be having this silly discussion because women talking about football will just be the norm.

The sponsors will soon get fed up as long as 3 women and a dog are turning up to most WSL fixtures.

Hope so.

WSL results come after Championship these days (IE. Above our league) on BBC.

The general standard is atrocious.

They’re not built for it.

The women’s game is still embryonic in professional terms so standards are still modest but that will change quickly.  Your views about women not being built for it are very old fashioned. It is here to stay so get used to it.

the men’s game is very unhealthy outside the prem in financial terms. Bolton cannot compete at that level anymore and nearly went bust trying to do so.

I agree with your last paragraph and that is the main point I was making.

Rubbish. Admittedly I'm really invested in WSL as my daughter is really good (very unlike her father) plays for Canterbury Youth and has trials for Kent shortly - although she's trying to work out her best position- still think she's best on right wing but is determined to be a defensive centre mid.

Her coach is a massive Arsenal Women's supporter and the growth is huge in a very short space of time - also participation. There is just as many women's matches when we go on a Sunday morning as men's.

Things will change as this generation grows up, at our age there just wasn't a culture of women's football so its harder to be invested - that's understandable, but when we fall off our perch/are dribbling messes it won't be the same.

Good luck to your daughter, hope she makes it...

But that's like when politicians say the economy is growing as the fastest economy in the G7 or whatever

If your going from a position of shit to less shit then it will be compared to one that's just bobbing along doing nicely

The men's game doesn't need to grow, it has all the commercial revenue, coverage and attendances at matches it needs

Whether or not you think it is unhealthy outside of the prem is a different debate but in the women's league could Durham compete financially with Chelsea? Is the women's game unhealthy outside of the top flight in financial terms?

I’m not sure where you are going with this but the English leagues are very good for the rich teams with wealthy backers in the prem. everyone else is feeding off scraps. The game has lost its soul.

I was talking about the men's game as a whole compared to the women's game as a whole as that was what your original point was alluding to

If you want to pick and choose teams which it applies to then that's different and that's why I mentioned Chelsea and Durham

Do you think those two teams get equal shares of the spoils?

Women are not built for women's football.

😁

well, its quite clear that those at the top are breaking at a quicker rate than men

despite their game being much slower and less physical

and ive no issue with womens football, i watch live most sundays

Im sure the women’s game would benefit from smaller pitches and goals.
