RUREADY2ROLL Posted April 13, 2024 Posted April 13, 2024 The substitutions were cac again. Bod missed two chances again but why take Collins off for Jerome? Quote
jmjhb Posted April 13, 2024 Posted April 13, 2024 Finishing one goal short of automatic promotion will be particularly galling Quote

Jerome as been a good sub from the Barnsley away gane caused a bit of panick in the opposition defence and we need some one to hold the ball up . I would of left Collins on though either pushed him wide or behind the front two Quote
1969 Posted April 13, 2024 Posted April 13, 2024 Excellent performance just a shame we couldn't get that 2nd goal Atmosphere was superb Mom Santos closely followed by bang average.Good to have Dion back Portsmouth I thought were very average considering they will be champions.Ref a complete cunt If it's play offs so be it,we'll piss it Quote
jmjhb Posted April 13, 2024 Posted April 13, 2024 (edited) Also, I'm not sure why that performance would make you more confident of the playoffs. It's actually the opposite for me. We were honking last week at Bristol Rovers and won. Today we were majestic yet didn't win when we desperately needed to. Actual victories required, not moral victories. Greg_BWFC Posted April 13, 2024 Posted April 13, 2024 (edited) Another game I can't believe we haven't won, story of the season 🤷♂️. Oh Bod, that chance in the 2nd half was on a plate 🤦♂️ Just shows that grinding on wins and draws like Pompey have is how you get out of this league. Oh and crowd was great, good atmosphere Edited April 13, 2024 by Greg_BWFC Quote
Rizlar Posted April 13, 2024 Posted April 13, 2024 Better team again and yet again missed chances have cost us still promotion is a possibility but out of our hands again. Don’t understand the subs can see why Dion but Jerome is never going to score a goal for us! On another subject Stockport and Wrexham promoted this league next season for us if we don’t get promotion will be a nightmare with Wigan and Blackpool still in it as well. Quote
barrycowdrill Posted April 13, 2024 Posted April 13, 2024 At crucial moments in tight games you can’t be missing that chance for Bod in the 2nd half nor not squaring to Thomasson in the first half. These games are always determined by small margins. Ones we never really seem to be on the right side of. think it was we Gonzo who said this morning that Pompey are similar to Plymouth last season . Pretty accurate comparison that. Good home record, keep it tight away and never drop below 7/10. Exactly the type of figures that get you promoted. we’re still in the race but likely play offs. Just hope the disappointment of not making it doesn’t knock the stuffing out of us for them because we should be ok. Nothing to be scared off at all in whoever else makes it and in which positions Quote
CumbrianWhite Posted April 13, 2024 Posted April 13, 2024 Poor defending for their goal but a superb performance after. Just couldn’t take the chances when they came our way. Santos absolutely superb. Quote
radcliffe white Posted April 13, 2024 Posted April 13, 2024 It’s play offs has been for weeks, this year we will be better equipped and fancy anyone over 2 legs Quote

Site Supporter Spider Posted April 13, 2024 Site Supporter Posted April 13, 2024 Santos had his best game ever in a white shirt. Their forwards will have the imprint of his cock on their thighs for the next few days. Bodvarsson is the reason we’re not going up automatically, fluffs his lines when it matters. Blame Evatt all you like but he’s engineered things so that chances are being created and when it comes to it, the striker has let us down. Otherwise, we shat on the champions. But my god, the ice man has cost us. Quote
Site Supporter superjohnmcginlay Posted April 13, 2024 Site Supporter Posted April 13, 2024 Ah well. santos was absolutely outstanding. Quote
London Wanderer Posted April 13, 2024 Posted April 13, 2024 Cambridge could grind a result against Derby. Doubt it though. I think they’ll see it over the line. Feeling more confident about the playoffs! Looking at who will come down (& even up from L2), next season will be a really tough league. Quote
Hoppy Posted April 13, 2024 Posted April 13, 2024 Really bad defending for their goal thier left winger had so much time first half no defending on the left hand side cost us Quote

Spot on. Though I’ll always have a soft spot for the ice man. I think he’ll play a part yet. Quote
mickbrown Posted April 13, 2024 Posted April 13, 2024 Battered them. They were a set of niggly dirty bastards and the ref was weak as piss. I’ll never understand Evatt’s substitutions. Took our 4 most creative players off in one fell swoop and sucked any momentum we had out of the game. And it’s not the first time he’s done it. Quote

Shitter that we couldn't put the ball in the net again to get all 3 points but I definitely feel better about going into (potentially ) 3 massive pressure playoff games after our performance today. Not sure what your point is to be honest. Quote

Site Supporter Spider Posted April 13, 2024 Site Supporter Posted April 13, 2024 Top strikers turn up against top teams. it’s all well and good being flat track bullies and banging goals in against dross like Fleetwood, but the true test comes when the teams up top roll into town. We are clearly better than Portsmouth at creating chances, everyone there today will admit that we had them on the ropes a lot. But the truth is that Bodvarsson has cost us. Quote

Doubt Vic would’ve done better or Dan or Jerome tbh Quote
