Playoffs

Blackpool printed ticket arrangements for Wembley in their match day programme when they played Bradford in the 2nd leg, 1995. They were 2-0 from the first.

Chris Kamara pinned it up in dressing room to gee the players up.

They beat Blackpool 3-0 and got Big Sam the sack.

Eric Nixon had a calamitous night then signed for Bradford the same summer.

story back in the day was when we took Liverpool to a replay in the FA Cup in 1993, Wolves had already printed home tickets for the 4th round saying "Wolves V Liverpool"

also, in the General Havelock before the 95 play off second leg some fans were banging on about how every coach company in the West Midlands was fully booked for for the play off final

We were in a pub near Anfield for the replay - They had a list on the notice board taking names for the coach to Wolves - we added our names but they never got in touch

In my view the punishment was harsh, a booking or even a red card would have sufficed, people, men and women, say stuff in the heat of the moment and you will never stop that, majority of referees accept that too and deal with it, female referees also have to accept the fact that something may get said in the heat of the moment, how many times have you said something in the heat of the moment then thought about it after and regretted it

Say it to someone at work and see how far you get with that argument

Can we play at 3pm on Sat and be on tele? Wonder if that where the 17:30 rumour is gathering pace? Sure it was an early kick off last season

3pm on the Bank Holiday Monday last year. League Two was 3pm on the Sunday. I’m sure there are precedents for it being 3pm on Saturday but 5.30 wouldn’t surprise me one bit.

I did double check tbf. You’d think I’d have remembered considering we’d booked a weekend in London so we fucked off to Brighton for the day to avoid any Wednesday & Barnsley fans 😂

Clearly when picking and choosing options for play off semi final opponents there's no perfect outcome. I think this is a reasonable one. Barnsley's current form is appalling. Lincoln would have been awkward due to recent form, Oxford similar but to a lesser degree. Blackpool would have been awkward because they hate us.

Home leg second for us this time. We've a great chance of Wembley.

Not too bothered, Barnsley are shocking.

Me neither.

Anything can happen in playoffs but the team shouldn't be worried about this tie.

Hopefully get it done in the first leg 🤞

Oh aye, and Blackpool missed out 😃
