When you're too close emotionally to the action it's difficult to offer a reasoned opinion ( like you lot are ) so if I may here goes from a pie eating perspective. I'll try to be as unbiased as local rivalry allows and I'm going to have a flutter to keep my interest alive so to speak so here's my pick. Barnsley...Great start to the season but what a shitshow since including a change of manager. You lot will stroll past um with a 3 goal advantage over 2 legs ( 2-1 and 3-1 ). Tuther match is a much closer job. All teams fear momentum and Oxford have it just now. Peterborough have the mentality that if you score 3 we score 4 but Oxford are organised and this one will go either 1 of 2 ways. Posh click into goalscoring mode and run away with it or, Oxford nick a tight double header which is my choice. ( 2-1 Oxford then 2-2 at Posh ). Reet final...another very close match. I wouldn't be heartbroken if Oxford nicked it as that would guarantee us 6 points off you lot next season but I honestly ( through gritted teeth ) think you lot edge it 3-2. There's a fiver going on this series of scores. So , in conclusion if this lot comes to pass our paths may not cross for the foreseeable which I've no doubt breaks your feckin hearts but either way enjoy and al si thi. If we were to go up, i would imagine you’d really miss your 2 biggest games of the season, it seems your games against us are the only 2 games that really matter to most of your fans. Maybe that’s where we’re going wrong, our games against Wigan aren’t seen as anywhere near our 2 biggest games of season. Never have been, never will be. anewman
We’re not going up. Barnsley will beat us. sack Evatt now for me, we should have gone up automatically. The season is a failure.

I disagree after the last two seasons but I’m hoping that will be irrelevant as we are promoted through the play offs and leave them in L1? boltonboris
Fancy us against these. I'm sure they'll jump through hoops to get Wellens in in time for that bounce, but I think we're the better team. We'll certainly have more ball, more quality and more chances and it's about fuckin time we win that sort of game

I wouldn’t actually fear any of them but let’s not jump the gun because we have to finish 3rd to be playing whoever gets through and that’s by no means a certainty. In fairness I wouldn’t mind playing Barnsley again because we owe them big style for last year and they’re not the team they were then. Called this right fella. Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted May 4 Site Supporter Share Posted May 4 This from the bbc live reporting from the ground. "For all you niche stats fans (yes, I'm looking at you) this is is just the third time in play-off history that the same three teams have featured in a division's play-offs in two successive seasons*. Bolton were beaten across two legs by Barnsley last season while Peterborough fans wont need reminding they blew a four-goal first leg lead to lose to eventual winners Sheffield Wednesday. *Bolton, Ipswich and Birmingham in 1999 and 2000 and Bolton, Bury and Tranmere from 90 and 91 seeing as you asked." We're there each time!

Marc505
A few years ago this was one of those grounds and Oxford one of those aways where I used to think hmm I wonder what they're like and maybe will get chance someday. Shit, both.

But I think Todd and Evatt are 2 different animals. I was so pissed off with Todd after Watford. I remember them chilling out in tracksuits and Todd saying it’s just another game, while Taylor had Watford really well set up, focused and prepared for a Wembley final. Evatt was spot on with every detail at Wembley last year. I’m pretty confident he wouldn’t send us out like Todd did in 99.
