During our best spell, we were more aggressive, on the front foot, pressing quickly, and turning the ball over early and working chances.

Gone a bit slow again and not pro-active.

I get that we were out-tackticked, but the players ought to have been capable of making subtle adjustments as required.

And the management ought to be able to make adjustments too, either in style, formation or whatever.

Anyway, fuck it, I'm not going to sulk, and spend hours hand-wringing.

Bring on the Summer, cricket and the Euros.

Where to start. Glad I'm on the train on the way home. Evatt out thought on tactics. Team looked tired and slow.

Main problem is Santos to Total to Jones over and over again. Walking football kills any momentum. Has Jones fallen out with Cogley as he refuses to pass to him even when he has space on the wing. Would rather go back to Santos who has been poor for a while. Dempsey should have started as midfield was weak and always is when both Maghoma and Ogbeta start. Finally feel sorry for Collins and Charles who got no service at all. Surprised if Charles is back next season. Being replaced by Jerome at Wembley while 2-0 down must be the final straw.

Sadly I'm not surprised by today. We've bottled the bigger games/derbies all season. Oxford did a number on us just like Derby/Wigan/Blackpool etc.

When you look at today and some other occasions ... we'd have been in serious bother in the Championship. Long term this is probably the right thing. Short term it is unutterably grim.

Safe journey home everyone. I've got a shorter journey home - to Oxfordshire. Next week at work will not be pleasant. Oxford people being Oxford people it'll only be gentle stuff but life would have been more simple if our lot had grown a pair and won the game.

Unforgivable showing that. Saved our worst til last. Can't quite believe it. Not been that close to crying since I trapped my finger in a door 3 months ago.

Fuck knows what next season looks like from here. Not sure how this lot can get up and go again after that. Couldn't care less if that sounds dramatic. We were complete liquid dogshit.

I don’t feel like I’ve been to a game, that was absolutely fkin awful, they gave nothing. Each and every one of them were spineless shitbags. I can take having an off day but it’s a fkin final, pathetic weak knob heads. Fkin shambles

Left my daughter and grandson and already nearly at Reading on my way back to Worcestershire

That has to be on of the low points following the whites. Evatt can fuck off back to Barrow the useless cunt

Honestly wouldn't give a shit if none of them are back next season. Biggest game all season and not one of them stood up to be counted. From evatt to the players all shut the bed today.

I could've taken the loss better if we'd gone down swinging but to be so clueless and effortless is unacceptable

Can’t quite decide whether that was Evatt’s fault or the players? Did he tell them to play walking football and pass it slowly across the back rather than forward. Non existent midfield. Lose every 50/50 ball. Maybe lacked a leader on the pitch? Anyway. Fair fucks Oxford. Did us like a kipper. Depressing. No tears if Evatt goes, no surprise if FV stand by him

Done with Evatt. Nowhere near aggressive enough in a final. Completely inexcusable that!

Is that Evatt though? 11 players took to the field and looked like strangers, shit passing, bottling tackles, no desire. They were all awful.

That's how I feel. A final that has just passed us by. Awful in every conceivable way. Did we even have a shot on target?

The most frustrating thing is - dire as we were - what are you giving Oxford out of 10 today? 4? 5 being generous? We've been rolled over by an extraordinarily bad side. Deserve everything we've got today and this season. We need a major rethink before next season or it will be more of the same

Evatt will be back next season with the full backing of the board, in reality everyone knows even Evatt himself it's his last chance

If they have any ambition to get out of this league they'll have to get shut.

He threw this season away. It'll be tougher next season
