Do we though. Do we just think that because they’re our players

Maybe, but don't we think we've seen them play beautifully? I still wouldn't trade our players for Oxfords. And that's down again to Evatt.

Personally never liked the fella - happy for him to do the work for us, worried he never really would.

Wouldn't be upset if he went tomorrow

I don't think we necessarily have the best first 11, there are too many other good players at other teams you could make a case for. But in terms of overall squad we definitely have top 2 material, alongside Pompey, so over the course of the season a good manager should have got us to top 2, as Evatt said was the target.

There's been periods this season where we have an embarrassment of riches compared to other teams in this league.

And there have been times where we've had injuries and still been able to put out a team that should beat almost anyone in this league.

Not getting promoted is a major underachievement for Evatt.

My fear is that I think they did.

Why I asked the question earlier. Hard to tell, but I'm not surprised at the result, although perhaps the non-existent performance.

Evatt and Dempsey have both come out and said they can't understand why it went wrong

Even if there manager got his tactics right, there are aspects that can't be down to that.

Lack of accuracy and slow passing, lack of movement and pressing.

We have beaten teams this season that sit back, but that involves tempo, aggression and desire.

Lots to ponder.

A big Sam side would take a evatt side to the cleaners 7 days a week and twice in a Sunday . Tippy tappy football stick it up your arse

That's not right, but we need a leader whi can be pragmatic as well as an idealist.

My constant worry is that Evatt isn't bright enough to lead a club of this size, and tactics are a minimum. But I just don't believe he believes it.

And that's why we always come up short when we need it. It's happened for years under his watch and it's not surprising.

Of course it’s is fault he signed them all bar one . Every time we make a signing evett always says they look at the character of the player not one of them as any bottle

Aye. Not that we had any today, but he just sucks any momentum we have out of a game.

Head it, tackle and outmuscle folk aye, but please stop the ball going though him. It kills us.

What about stood with his hands on his hips on the half way line for about 2 minutes (Dempsey had just walked over to him at this point - he’d been stood alone for a good 90 seconds or so), in about the 88th minute whilst there was a break in play - I took this picture because we were fucking furious with how placid he was and doing absolutely fuck all when his team was 10 minutes away from throwing the season down the shitter.

He can be the best defender in the league. A leader he is not.

Oxford didn’t even start that well, we just pondered about & slowly let them play.
There was one moment Thomason was in the final third with nobody around him & still went backwards. Actually think him & Dempsey were the ones who did show some desire at points.

Santos nearly cost us in the semis & was awful today. That first goal was shameful.

Next season will be the tough. Arguably the toughest third tier we’ve ever seen. The problem we now have is that FV may not be capable of making the tough decision.

Time for a break from it all.

There’s no in between, he’s either the best or the worst.

Oxford have a manager who actually set up their strategy against the opponent. With Evatt, it's rinse and repeat down to the same identikit subs. Every bastard game.

We didn't turn up but that was partly because they nullified us so well and Evatt had no response.

He may get a Championship job, because it if goes well, it's nice tippy-tappy football.

I'm pissed off that I've been proven right with my miserable moaning to be honest.

To be fair to IE his philosophy failed to get us up through the playoffs last year and it failed to get us up through the playoffs this year so at least we know his approach is consistent.

Have to say Evatt looked totally perplexed during his interview after the game. I just couldn’t get over his assertion that when we play it quickly and zip the ball around we’re a different team. Yes Ian, so why do you let that useless lump in the middle ruin any tempo with his shite walking football and standing with his foot on the ball? If that’s against your instructions then grow a pair and yank him off. That back three cost us that game today no question as they have done several others this year yet you don’t seem to call them out. Gutless the lot of you.
