Deschamps betting the house on these subs. Taken off three defence minded players for attackers - so makes it easier for Spain's attack at the same time he strengthens his own.

Should be more goals in theory.

France have been better since.

Maybe their more attack minded players have meant less opportunity for Spain's forwards?

Sure - but it ups the ante both ways.

Mind you Spain look like they're now playing to try to see the game out which is daft.

yeah definitely overrated on the international stage

(if you ignore 8 goals at 2022 and a hat trick in the final)

(and the 2018 world cup win with 4 goasls)

(and 48 in 83 fro France)

(and the Nations League win in 2021)

#leFraude

Lol, yep you're right, leFraude

(He'll score now :D )

I'm glad the French got knocked out. Below par all tournament.

France had a back four of Kounde Upamecano Saliba and Hernandez with Rabiot, Tchoameni and Kante in front protecting and they couldn't stop Spain.

How the fuck are England stopping that?

England are like France, but with not as good defenders and no pace on the break.

If we get that far, we'll bore them into submission.

another goal for messi in a major tournament last night

no tears

Portugal would still be here (imo) if Ronaldo was used as a sub.

Edit: though it’s beautiful seeing Messi prove relentlessly who’s the classier player.

I agree, I knew pre tournament they wouldn't feature with Martinez as manager, not strong enough to drop him

sulks and the whole team has to play through him

they probably hate him
