Can’t say the same about the wanderers sadly😳 We were miles better against Switzerland and this gut feeling preserves that we’ve only just started. I rate the Swiss more than the Dutch but don’t think it’s a foregone conclusion by any stretch. Our head to head is incredibly close at 7 wins to our 6 and hopefully it will be closer by tomorrow night. On another note, as a neutral I’d rather Spain win tonight. Thinking with our England hats on and it may be better to play the surrender monkeys. Though I don’t think there’s a lot in it because if they click then it’s tough opposition. I'd much prefer Spain to win tonight as a neutral and as an England fan. England v France sounds like 2 hours of my life wasted, and France will still probably win 1 nil via an own goal. At least with Spain it will probably be entertaining and they can be got at as Germany showed
July 9, 20242 yr Of the higher ranked nations, Spain have been the ones who have performed closest to their expected norm and I expect that to continue - but if France don't up their game for this one I'd be surprised. And if they do play nearer their potential, they are quite capable of beating Spain. Should be interesting.
July 9, 20242 yr Three of the four teams in this stage have failed to perform to their potential. We're in the "don't make mistakes" stage, rather than the "go out there & show 'em" one. This, surely, gives England an advantage as it's what bedwetter St. Gareth does naturally. Anyway, he'll get a knighthood & fck off in one or maybe two games time which, win, lose or draw, will be a relief.

They are actuallly quite defensive minded players, Real use 1 of them at left back at times to. Camavinga, Tchouameni, Krose, Modric, Valverde - Its alwats 3 of these, with Valverde even playing as a "righ midfiedler" - Who doesnt go forward much becuase of Reals out and out front 3. Its more a mentality, like you say with England always having that handbrake on. I did like Manoo playing, he seemed 10/15 yards ahead or Rice at many times.
July 9, 20242 yr going into the tournament, consensus was our defence was cack is it such a surprise that southgate looks to protect them?
July 9, 20242 yr Wonder what the odds are on there not being another goal from open play for the rest of the tournament?
July 9, 20242 yr Can you bet on scoring from set pieces? Prime for us tomorrow, VVD diabolical in the air and Van De Ven was all over the show for Spurs last season. Toney late on odds on. Gerrit in mixer.

July 9, 20242 yr Really fancy France tonight and I thought they would be clear favourites. Just like England, they will surely come good at some point with their quality.
July 9, 20242 yr Part of me wants England to lose tomorrow night. The final is during Frank Turner on Sunday at the Uni. Hopefully the WiFi holds up to a bunch of folk streaming the match in their phones. Edited July 9, 20242 yr by frank_spencer
