July 10, 20242 yr That Spain performance was incredible. Started shakily but once they scored they were on top from that point on. Absolutely killed the game with their relentless but clinical use of possession. I can only dream that England could play that well in a major tournament. We need a Rodri type player so much. Shitting myself for tonight, if we win then amazing and anything can happen but I can’t see us getting the better of Spain. I think if we played Spain 10 times they’d win 9/10.

More debatable is: Could England with a different mindset, manager, tactics etc match them? I’m not sure they could. So do we think England and Southgate, should they win tonight, getting to their first major final outside of England, be commended for their achievement at Euro 2024 if they are losing finalists? We sort of mimic them, but don't pass, move or press as effectively. Nevertheless, we have enough quality players to get at them. Just depends if we reach our potential. All of which is irrelevant unless we're through later.
July 10, 20242 yr It’s about time the obvious world class talent England possess are allowed to express themselves. Very lucky to be here but you rarely win anything playing poorly for a full tournament.
