Working abroad

I’ve wanted to do this for years- since college, however life didn’t turn out like this- kids, mortgage, marriage etc… I’ll soon be mortgage free, and still relatively young at 44. I’ll soon complete my UEFA C Licence, which is basic entry for holiday firms etc, but I’ll look to expand on that.

Be a couple more years, but any suggestions from anyone as to where? I’ve no language skills other saying thanks in about 7 different ways… always fancied Portugal for 6 months. Looking at lifestyles etc

Oh, I’m taking the wife and I am a ginger- so rules out pretty much everywhere by Siberia

GERMANY doesn’t count

If you are going down the coaching route I’d look at USA, Canada, Oz, no need learn the language and would be plenty of coaching roles.

well aye, but he can take his pick from anywhere

I don't have a choice, it's either here or Australia

and they are making that very difficult for me because I'm over 44

If only every country was as selective. Tsk!

Dubai all day long if you can square it.

Weather, Lifestyle and Money. Perfect.

I'd do it tomorrow if I had the bottle.

Do it now. This country is fucking shit and life is way too short.

If it was me, try Canada. Relatively close to UK, resource rich country kept sane by peering across the fence next door.

But check age requirements. 44 is getting on when it comes to persuading countries to give working visas.

I know someone at BWFC who could possibly assist with a football coaching role in Australia. May be no interest in going to Australlia?

Went to Dubai for two weeks and that was more than enough for me

Fuck paying £16 for a pint as well

It's just a huge sprawl and the shopping centre is about the size of Horwich

It has an aquarium in the middle and certainly money is no object

Plus 45 degree heat in the summer, fuck that

I want to end up in Italy, love the place. You can buy a big fookoff pad in Tuscany or Umbria for a fraction of the prices in this country.

Well I'll take your place then :D

Few lads I have worked with have done "soccer" coaching in the USA... absolutely loved it.

I did work in Saudi to clear my student debts in the early 80s, lived off home brewed grape juice and used to break the journey home in Cyprus to get blatted. Not recommended.

Happy with Spain, but no idea on what the options are to move out there, live, work, retire, etc.

Retire you need to have 30k in your account year 1, 50k years 2 and 3 and 50k 4 and 5 I believe. Then you get a permanent residency. Mrs E’s dad has done it. Can put you in contact with the woman who sorted it if ya want.

No just need the amount in your bank. So 30k year one, then 50k yearS two to 5. Basically put it in and don’t spend it.

Loads of countries offer digital nomad visas

My sister-in-law is one of these virtual assistant type people, so she can work form anywhere. Her and her husband are currently looking at this. They can comfortably sell their place in Brighton, and buy one in Spain and bank a few hundred grand as well.......plus the lifestyle/weather is so much better
