Wanderlust Posted August 24, 2024 Posted August 24, 2024 I guess the pass was meant for Toal to run on to but it was appalling. George tracked his man but Sheehan was totally MIA jogging back. Free pot. Quote
Johnnyrotten Posted August 24, 2024 Posted August 24, 2024 Collins and McAtee look quality on the ball, best football we've played this season so far. Quote

Farnywhite Posted August 24, 2024 Posted August 24, 2024 Collins as had a couple of chances shooting as been weak . This ref looks like there manager screaming at him all the time as got to him Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted August 24, 2024 Posted August 24, 2024 Apart from the goal fuck up, what is the assessment so far? Are we managing with 2 in midfield? Quote
jmjhb Posted August 24, 2024 Posted August 24, 2024 (edited) Doesn't seem like we're getting any better, despite another million+ spent Edited August 24, 2024 by jmjhb Quote
Blondi Posted August 24, 2024 Posted August 24, 2024 Our midfield looks week compared to Charlton's. Quote
worthy10 Posted August 24, 2024 Posted August 24, 2024 Sheehan ineffective. Prefer to see matete Quote
Bertie Posted August 24, 2024 Posted August 24, 2024 Obvious last week and this that we’re not going to rip up any trees this season with just two in the middle. Teams have already realised they just need to overload us and we’ll never get going offensively. A waste of our attacking talent. As others have said it’s obviously “the new plan” though so not holding out any hope IE’s tactics will change anytime soon. Quote

Wanderlust Posted August 24, 2024 Posted August 24, 2024 I wouldn't have started Sheehan for this game - just not his game - but as he's been picked ahead of Matete (who would have prevented their goal) we have to be far more effective both at the front and back. So far we've been erratic at the back and toothless up front. It would be a good time for these players to up their game. Quote

deeane Koontz Posted August 24, 2024 Posted August 24, 2024 Strikers will have to be extra clinical if we're playing with fuck all in midfield lol Quote

bwfc4ife Posted August 24, 2024 Posted August 24, 2024 This is where Evatt should be earning his coin in changing the game with subs and formations. The most obvious thing for me over the last three games is the huge hole left by Paris. The composure he had on the ball just helped it stick so much more particularly when Sheehan was also on form. Quote
Farnywhite Posted August 24, 2024 Posted August 24, 2024 This forward 3 isn’t working early days but they are mostly to far apart . I would be tempted to take one of them off and get another midfielder on Quote
deeane Koontz Posted August 24, 2024 Posted August 24, 2024 Get a midfielder on at half time Evatt Quote

CumbrianWhite Posted August 24, 2024 Posted August 24, 2024 I don’t recall seeing many top teams playing 5-2-3. It’s not working and needs changing asap. We have no control in midfield and look very vulnerable on the break. Quote

CambridgeBWFC Posted August 24, 2024 Posted August 24, 2024 Do our strikers actually train together during the week? Not on the same wavelength at all. Also it is fine passing it out from the back if you have players that can do it, shite from Santos and Toals distribution abysmal again. Quote

Same old really. Oxford was a huge wake up call for me. This squad is wasted under Evatt & regularly crumble under pressure. As always, I would love to be proven wrong as I do respect the guy. But with the standard in the league this season, we need a big improvement in mentality & flexibility in tactics. Yet to see any signs of it. Quote
