Not even worth being worked up about

Things are really bad when you can't be bothered having you're two penneth worth of managerial criticism! 🤣

Must admit, I wasnt overly surprised by that today- as soon as the teamsheet came out, I thought "oh fuck".

Can’t say that on here. But it’s not lost on many that without a quality attacking midfielder we are piss poor.

Sorry, I take that back, forgot about the rules.

I feel like we're on the Titanic and a big block of ice has just appeared in the distance

Every week the value of our assets is diminishing, might as well get rid if they can't fit the system.

The midfield wasn’t good enough last year. Since then he’s taken out the creator and replaced with nobody - what the fuck did he expect?

Leopard and spots and all that, I just don’t have any patience left for him. In the place now that I’d be pretty happy if it was announced he’s gone tomorrow before we waste the season

While the 2 goals were both bad errors, we had far more posession than Charlton, but never looked like scoring. If we han't gifted them both goals niether would they. Very litlle between the two sides.

I just don’t see Evatt changing anything he will stick with his principles and that’s it we was found out last season and nothing as changed same cock ups and a static midfield. Santos , Sheehan and Charles start no matter what unless injured. Santos looks lost and no confidence , Sheehan is great when he as loads of time but once pressed he can’t cope and Charles still think he’s not fully fit!!

Our midfield looks weaker not just because he's gone, but because we have taken the decision not to put anyone in his place.

At least give someone the chance to fill the gap!

Agreed its weak with 2 in midfield, but whoever we put in there, we're still missing the creativity of Maghoma (nobody's fault, he was only on loan).  Its hard to see where we've strengthened currently with less creativity in midfield, the jury's out at wingback and up front.  But Johnston definitely an improvement at LCB.  We couldn't win the big games last season, I'd love to be wrong but struggling to see how that changes currently.

A bit mental playing 2 midfielders away from home at a place like Charlton, put 3 or 4 in there ffs.

In the opposition half we overplay it  too much with tippy tappy short passes & try to walk it in the net.

Either have a shot or get 2 decent wide men to get round the back of ‘em and provide some service for our front men.

Sheehan is great if you want someone to collect the ball, chop back and go the other way for a bit and then chop back the other way and give it to someone else. When did he last really influence a game? I'm scratching my head to remember

You can.

I don’t get this viewpoint, as if there’s a large majority who are unintelligent happy clappers, who won’t accept opinion or a negative post.

I’m about as positive as they come on here, but always with pragmatism, realism and an openness for different viewpoints and debate.

We are massively missing Maghomas influence from last season and this 3 forward line that hasn’t scored in 180 mins of football isn’t working.

Evatt has some big questions to address and needs to find answers quickly.

I‘m not sure if you misinterpreted my post or me yours. But I was (am) a big fan of Maghoma. Had some disagreements with MK over it. I agree with JR’s post and the last 2 paragraphs of yours. I’ll take your word for the middle para… 😀

Things are going to turn sour pretty quickly if he doesn't address this midfield issue.

It's like a big empty circle in the middle of the park.

Dread to think how things will go if we concede first on Sat :(

The problem is we make these errors all the time other teams don't so we get beaten by better sides

Well that was an absolute shit show, and Evett's latest softball interview has NOT improved my mood, and nor will it anyone else's I suspect. I like Evett but this system will not work especially away. 🤨

Very disappointing today. Better team for first 25 minutes but that goal completely killed us. I do think that if we want to play 3 up front then we will need to change to 4 at the back. With the current system the 2 in the middle are being completely overrun.

I'm just hoping it comes together before we slip too far behind the other playoff contending teams.

We have good enough players - although there were a few I wasn't impressed by today - but the selection and system doesn't help at all. It seems like in trying to solve last season's problems we've created new ones.

I knew that unless the plan came together today - whatever that plan is - we'd struggle with that line up, simply because we know exactly how Charlton would play, and yet we went with two midfielders one of whom was Sheehan and out of possession, Sheehan is a passenger anyway. TBH nowadays he's a passenger when we have the ball he's marked so tightly. Maybe he could be used as an impact sub when conditions are right?

But what are Evatt's options? Personally I'd go with a back 4 (Johnston, Santos, Toal and Tutu) put some bollocks in a pivot midfield (George, Matete and Demps who are also all playmakers) and play Collins, Dion or VIc and McAtee rotating positions  - but I imagine that a 451/433 or something similar would be the last thing on Evatt's mind even though the players we have are fit enough to do the running required for that.

Couldn't do worse than the disconnected shit shows we've seen to date.

On to the next one, but something has to change.

Been mentioned a few times but we really do fucking miss Paris in that midfield.

He was demanding that ball even with a few players up his arse and try to make things happen

Like Matete

The fuck ups, as we've seen before, come from unnecessary and poor quality passing.

I'm convinced that this is "forced" by a lack of options directly front. Similarly the front three are not getting the service/support.

No one forced him to pass to no one, he had options either side

Is JDC playing? ive not seen him! Needs to get Tutu on, Cogley is so ineffective and weak. I agree we need another midfielder, theres so much space from Charltons backline to ours. And, stating the obvious we need to up our tempo.

Numerous individuals on here had a go at me for suggesting he isn’t up to scratch. The bloke is fucking awful.

The way he blames Baxter for passing to him! He should have nutted him, he makes mistakes but never seems to want to take the blame. He is not a captain
