Strange how that's mirroring last season when we only played 4 away games in our first 12.

I was hoping to get a more even spread of home/away games this year so that the table is a more accurate reflection and away games don't pile up, but looking at international weekends clashing with away games it will probably happen again.

All these international breaks seem to fall on all home or all away weeks, if you get what I mean. Last season and this seems to be all away games and I really don't want all these away games in hand again

So what do we reckon score wise?

Neither team is a prolific scorer so far although we have better attacking options IMO, but need them to gel up front to make the difference. Anything less and it looks like another scoreless draw or a scabby 1 nil either way.

Hopefully this is the day that our front three send a message out to the rest of the division. They've had time together on the pitch now and Evatt has had time to select the best option so now it's time to deliver. I'd like some magic please Mr Evatt,

Amazing how stats can be misleading.  As you say they only lost 1 of their last 15 games last season, but they only won 4 and drew 10.  Going back to December they won 4 out of their last 28 games!  Drew an amazing 15, lost 9.  Less than a point a game, relegation form.

Even since Nathan Jones took over in Feb they only won 4 out of 16 (2 v relegated teams).

A draw isn't to be sniffed at but let's not overrate them, very few wins this year and only scored 2 goals in 3 games this season, both were late winners.  A game we should be looking to win to make up for dropping 2 points last week.

Way I see it

He came in last season and made them hard to beat

Then he's had the summer to work with them and drill into them the way he wants to play

Started the season with two 1-0 wins, so I think we know what to expect

Be tough, would not be disappointed with a draw as things stand, but if we can play our game we should be able to win

But I bet they set out not to let us

I see Nathan Jones has signed the rising Jamaican wunderkid Kaheim Dixon to solve their goal scoring issue yesterday.

19 years old, scored for fun at youth level but has netted twice in 8 games at full international level. Exciting prospect and TBH he's the kind of player I thought we'd be in the market for.

Wondering if he'll make an appearance today? Probably too early. But I'd like to see how he gets on at L1 level as he has all the instincts of a top striker.

He could be anything but he's only been tested in the Jamaican pub league, can't see him being involved today , maybe bench.

Was it Cockney?

Some cockney bloke in a pub at Blackfriars asked me where my accent was from. When I said Bolton he said "Where's that then? Is it near that Skemmersdale?" FFS.

Is it ont' telly box ?

I think many, many people, as things settle, the light & temperature closes in aren't going to be as keen to go to the longer distance fixtures which start at 5.30pm.
