Is it Megson that? I can't make it out?

That was Freedmans straw that broke the camels. Not sure what he'd done like.

Megsons was Hull on that Tuesday night when he put Gavin McCann on the sure up a 2-1 lead.

He was ahead of the game 20 years ago. Yesterday's man now, unfortunately.

Nonsense. We want to get to the championship and be solid there for years. Sam can provide that. Over see a new owner transition and build from there.

Any higher expectations than that is fantasy.

He may be out of fashion now but I'd be very interested in seeing him manage this squad if Evatt was to leave.

Well disciplined, direct sides that know their roles have done well in this league. Sam's 451/433 hybrid could be very effective. I'm not in the sack Evatt camp but if we had a vacancy then I would be excited.

Watched his interview on Under The Cosh last night, and he's showing his age. Highly doubt he's sharp enough to go back into management. He's got Legendary status at BWFC, but I reckon it'd be a sad end if we brought him back just to appease a deluded section of the fanbase that want to relive the 2000's.

I was surprised that he didn't try to buy the club (or lead some sort of consortium), when it was up for grabs. If he came back, it obviously wouldn't guarantee success, even though some seem to think it would

I'd have been astonished if he did. He's never going to invest in a guaranteed money pit.

I know, but I could fully imagine him leading/heading a consortium, and using somebody else's money 😉

Shania Twain with Stelios were the only ones confirmed at the time :(

There is never a guarantee but, in this case I would be willing to guarantee one thing. Under Sam it would be uncompromising, combative, intimidating and massively enjoyable. In a word - Bolton.

Your ex is your ex for a reason - never go back. She was fit then, but she's not aged well.

Thanks for the memories Sam.  We can still be friends, and you made me far happier than the current one ever will. But i fear you just want to come back for a quickie. You'd walk away again and leave me feeling empty!

It’s an odd one as I agree in principle but the way Sam last left last time seems to lend it self as a free hit.

Id normally never go back. Sam is such an upgrade on IE though that even if we had a small sniff then it’s worth exploring

The 'only' way he comes back is on a short term gig, if Evatt went after Christmas for example. Keep the ship moving whilst a longer term appointment is found.

I love the fella, brown envelopes and everything. But he's definitely slowed down mentally, and having seen various interviews / podcasts with him, comes across to me as yesterday's man.

I'm one of the few in the Evatt camp anyway. Give the fella some time. 2 wins from next 2 and we all start talking very differently. I'd love us to go up, but having come so close to going under, I'm genuinely happy to have footy to watch on a Saturday afternoon. Probably doesn't fit the narrative of many on here, but it's my view!
