I was looking for that. Couldn’t find it.

We’re at home aren’t we? So as an away ST, you’ll be happy with that!

1st plays 2nd in group I think. So it’s one of these:

Tranmere

Port Vale

Wigan

Crewe

Huddersfield

Bradford

Lincoln

We could end up playing Wigan twice in a week .

One thing I was surprised about last night was only 1 sub made when we're supposed to be protecting players making injury comebacks or giving a rest to players overplaying.

Honestly what is the point of youngsters on the bench if Evatt won't play them?

It must be a bit soul destroying.

As you say, don't put them on if they're not deemed good enough.

Feel we need to have a three man midfield with 2 uptop..

for me atm would be

sheehan matetee and sharples in midfield

Collins mcatee uptop.

charles and victor to swap at 60 mins,

lolos and arfield to swap,

we're not commanding that midfield and although many people mentioned it, we didn't get a midfield general,

One thing sharples offers os a fair motor, very much box to box, and not afraid to close down players, he did OK, and I would love evatt to give him a chance, but know he wouldn't.

Sounds like I’m in Evatt defence mode with my last few posts, which I suppose I am in a way.

But not to be misinterpreted as me not acknowledging his increasing deficiencies and many things he’s getting wrong at the moment.

But I don’t think every single thing he’s done or is doing is wrong.

And this might be one of those that falls into this category.

He had to try and get some kind of short-term positivity from last night which could translate into what happens at Blackpool.

- a win

- Sharples-Ahmed (could be a good bench option)

- 2 good goals for Collins

- Biggest one for me getting those minutes into Jones’ legs (he’s not injured is he?) preparing him for the Blackpool game

Because of his current status and issues it’s easy to slate every decision he’s ever made, is making and will make in the future. Let’s have a bit of balance and not become like the plant pots on Twatter and Facebook.

Think ot made a statement to players that they aren't all needed,

Despite the valid 'protection from injury point I'm actually pleased not to see the automaton substitutions he seems committed to.

But there were players who could have gained from time. Plus I'd love to know what Matheson has done to him.

Oh yeah I get that. But I think we should be doing it the other way round: meaningless cup games = auto subs to get minutes in legs, league games = subs to fit match situation

But Matete has strength, composure, he can take the ball surrounded by 2 men and come out with the ball, he can beat a man and drive forward, he wins tackles cleanly unlike for eg Tomo and he doesn't have a rush of blood thinking he can try 40 yard glory passes that invariably don't work, he retains possession well (normally).  Just my take on it, we are even flimsier when he doesn't play.

Fair enough, certainly can't disagree that we'd be even weaker without him, I might be being a bit harsh on him and hopefully he'll go on to show me so

You've seen sharples Ahmed play one game and you want him starting in the first team??

Need to see more than one game against a league two team. Personally thought he was just average.

If you want 3 in midfield the question is Sharples or Arfield?

Dempsey, Sheehan, Thomasson, Matete , Lolos.......plenty of options without even looking at them two.

Dempsey and Thomason are injured. And Lolos falls into the McAtee bracket of not being a midfielder

He was steady and a great cross for the goal, a very solid debut. Not really in the game second half. The way some people have reacted would have thought he is the next Messi.

Did he not lose his man for their goal?

Matete and Lolos are not good enough (poor signings) and Dempsey and Thomason are both injured

plus Collins and McAtee are not good enough in midfield - not sure where McAtee should be playing

In his position up front. Not being flippant it’s more a dig at current line ups. Everyone should play in their positions.
