Matete and Lolos are not good enough (poor signings) and Dempsey and Thomason are both injured

plus Collins and McAtee are not good enough in midfield - not sure where McAtee should be playing

I'm in the Matete is decent camp.  Firstly I've never taken any notice of the U21s cup unless its at Wembley and I'm not going to start now, so I can't comment on last night other than I saw the goals

In his position up front. Not being flippant it’s more a dig at current line ups. Everyone should play in their positions.

That really is one of the basics.  But IE tries to shoehorn Vic in, to the detriment of both our forward line and midfield.

Another non negotiable for me would be marking up at corners and free kicks but that's no longer fashionable either.

I don't know if that's true or not, but he started all 4 of the games against us.  If he was struggling to get in the team I would have thought he'd have been on the bench as they were all relatively huge games at the time.

He was on the bench a lot

from christmas to the end of the season he played over 50 minutes in almost every game - in one that he didn't he scored 2

he came on as a sub in 9 games all season

maybe it depends what 'lot' means in your world

Sometimes wonder if Evatt knows his best position ?

Did he not lose his man for their goal?

I've watched it carefully.

He's aware of a runner behind him, and actually points to a colleague to track him.

Meanwhile there are a couple of others just a little way behind him that he is watching.

There are plenty of defenders covering the play down our right, but they don't deal with it, nor the run of the scorer.

Very harsh to blame him.

For me, it's a feature of only having two midfielders.

Christ, everyone is suddenly absolute tosh!

Yes, performances are very inconsistent, but I have that down to the current situation within the camp and the manager.

Our entire squad is fucking dogshit - apart from a 19-year-old who's only played 90 minutes, in a virtually meaningless game.

That’s just his Turkey Teeth sticking out.

No dislike to him; just no midfield player

he doesn't pull his socks up, literally speaking that is, not figuratively

Is Evatt on the Mounjaro or has he got tapeworm? He looks awfully thin these days.

Give the other sides in this league the option of taking Collins and/or McAtee and 99.9% of them take both. The players and their quality ain’t the problem..

Me neither. He's had poor games, but they all have. Sometimes he can run  into dead ends and the support sometimes isn't there.

I think he's as decent as anybody.

Perhaps Carrs should send him a box of goodies

I actually believe we have some very good players, they just need to get back down to basics... our present manager is filling their heads with unfamiliar tactics during training sessions and as a result when they come out to play they feel uncertain and as result walk (play) on eggshells resulting in the lethargy we all can see.

A team needs to develop to a certain extent around the individual talents, we have been guilty of the team's tactics taking too much preference over the strengths of the individuals within the team... what do we do? We end up moving the players who want to make an impression on to other clubs

Agree with the first 2 and I don’t dislike him love is effort and I can see why evatt signed him from the point of we lack character in the squad on the back of Wembley .

But the formation change to 3 up top to shoe horn him in won’t work

he as been one of the best of a bad bunch of summer signings tute might offer something from what I have seen of him but looks like a lame duck at the minute with is dodgy knee .

Needs to give Collins and Mcatee a run, he won't though. Charles is becoming somewhat a luxury player in that he's either amazing or invisible.

As for my previous comment. We're losing midfield, it's a huge issue, but as most of out midfielders are out, if we play three, we can pick from sheehan, matetee, arfield and sharples. I'd rather play the young un than the has been..

Above GT, dempsey, morley, etc he'd have no chance.

But none of them chilli beef ones. They will speed up the digestion and no mistake.
