In many ways agree, but he seems to spout so much nonsense in interviews it feeds the anger a lot of fans are feeling so it really does matter IMO .

If we had someone who could actually head a ball I’d agree with you about our wide players going down the line and crossing but that doesn’t fit Evatt’s tippy tappy pass it in style and it seriously bugs me too.

Bit different attacking a cross facing an opponent's goal, and trying to out compete a big centre half to a long one with your back to goal.

Crosses can be on the deck to. The one by Schon recently to McAtee was an absolute worldy.

Their smallest player scored the header from a cross for the equaliser.

just get the ball in the box and see what happens, at worst pick up the second ball when it’s cleared

He'd be better off back in the old days of paper-copy newspapers and letters to be written in and published once a week. The insatiable desire for content, before matches, after them and on quiet news days in between, doesn't do him any favours. 

It was difficult to avoid being concerned by the nature of what he'd said in the post match on Tuesday, around the mentality of the players in that last half hour but also what was indicated about the messages being given to the players about the way to see the game out

He talks like he has watched it on iFollow and has no ability to impact proceedings!! 

If they not doing what you want, fuckin tell them Ian, don't come moaning to us later. Take your hands out of your pockets, stop looking at the floor and direct your players in what you do expect form them, not claim no idea why they aren't! It's on you.

I mess around with old cars all of the time and it might have been a sensor... sometimes I go out and the dash is like a Christmas Tree, get home, disconnect the battery and reconnect and they all go away.. took the wife's car out yesterday and it was the first time for months that i haven't seen a brake, temperature and engine warning light, but I had just changed the battery... too many sensors on modern cars

He just needs a better media coach. Problem is that as a result of the performances he is on the defensive from the off and he rambles on driven by his emotions - so it comes across as excuses.

Instead he should focus on saying what he’s learned and what he’s going to do about it and limit it to three key points to get the message across  - and never stray off message.

Behind the scenes he should tell the players like it is - but not in public. 
 

He just makes a rod for his own back.

My Dad's van broke down on the A6 on our way back from us cleaning a rubber factory on a weekend. I was about 14.

Luckily there was a farm 100 yards away and he bowled over. I thought he was asking for a spanner or summet but he came back with 6 eggs.

He cracked two in his bubbling radiator. The eggs sealed the crack at the bottom and we were on our way. I was flabbergasted.

Nearly as flabbergasted as I was when I watched him fix his van with a pair of tights bought from a service station on the way back from Wembley.  Who knew they could replace a fanbelt

Point is, we didn't have one when SJM and Walker were here, but we did pretty well.

I suppose that's the flexibility of a manager within his squad. We still weren't a boot it and hope team though, even with him in.

Horses for courses, if a team are going to sit deep then a big lad who can beat a centre half to a header is needed, if they play a high line then a quicker striker is what you want.

Having the options to change things is what you want from a squad.
