Just not good enough on all fronts. Need a good clear out and rethink across much of the team, but ultimately the change has to start from the top.

It’s not even good to watch. Mansfield and other teams are happy for us to piss about as they know they’ll win. The real idiots of the division try to play this bollocks against us and they are the games we will win. It’s tiresome

As so often, we had a lot of nice looking possession that racked up the successful pass stats but, as Evatt acknowledged, once we got to where there needed to be a bit of composure and sureness, it all fell apart.

But it all stems from, get ball in middle, pass back get to the wingers, who run a bit then get it across the entire pitch to the others idea, 

Then a poor cross straight to one of theirs in a packed box.

Most goals we score seem to be from direct attacking.

Me too. We’ve suggested a flat back four, wingbacks on the right correct sides, my own personal favourite a settled strike force and a general no tinkering in the 70th minute. If we start playing square pegs in square holes and leaving them there it might just work.

He won't play a back four, because to him Santos is his number 1 defender, but he's an absolute liability in a four.

Some of our best goals have been when we've let the opponents have the ball a bit, nicked it and broken quickly. 

Southwood- makes sense, you could see Baxter taking it easy in warm up assuming due to the nose injury.

Our centrebacks would be fine in a 4 providing it's under a new manager. Who actually coaches shape and defending rather than prioritising farting about with it like this one. Mad really because he was a defender himself

So infuriating this. I'm pretty sure the vast majority of supporters want rid of IE. For the board to fund another transfer window for him seems like a waste of their money. We are absolutely nowhere near promotion quality. And in the last 12 months we have got worse. As I said last week, the longer the board tolerate his damaging incompetence, the poorer it reflects on them and they too become fair game for criticism. As much as we vent our anger on here, it really does fall on deaf ears.

Cogley is on of the worst right sided players i have seen watching Bolton in the last 56 years. He runs and runs, but does fuck all else!  Cant tackle, cant pass forward, bottles challenges, waves his arms about blaming the ref and others, no positional sense. Hes utter fucking gash , and belongs back at Tranmere! Anyone think of anyone worse?

I don't agree on this. For me we played nice football in ineffective areas. Lots of passing around in midfield and defence, but no real penetration. Their keeper wasn't worked at all.

Meanwhile Mansfield had far less possession but looked dangerous throughout when they went forward. Admittedly in the second half they sat back as you would do as a much smaller club, but they fully deserved the win for me.

Lolos was half decent, but had 2 awful shots which just wasted good situations (what was that about when he pee rolled it wide from 25 yards?) and the free kick couldn't have been worse.  Other than Cogley (who was dire v Lincoln too), I didn't think any of the starters had a terrible game really. 

Folk will slag off Santos for the 2nd goal (fine) and ignore the other 89 minutes when he was virtually faultless.  Tomo wasn't bad, some good stuff and his first half-decent game since Blackpool; Schon surprised me a couple of times with pure skill and invention, and he put a good shift in.

There wasn't a 10 minute spell in that game when I thought we were anywhere near as bad as we've been in many games this season. 

I just want to see something different, a different formation to show that he's thinking of new things or tryin new ideas. 4231, get one of the CBs in the CDM role alongside GT, make it a little bit big sam-ish, anything, instead of trying the same tired crap over and over again and expecting something different to happen (isn't that the definition of madness or something), but instead he'll probably buy players to shoehorn into this dross formation that doesn't work.

Some of the forward play in first 10 mins was very good, and there was a spell after their second where we scored and it looked like we might again. That was it though for me, second half was a load of unproductive huff and puff, misplaced simple passes, poor crosses and wasteful free kicks. In short, about 25 good minutes out of the 90
